Time to play catch up..

Baseball season has finally come to an end! They played their last game last night, it was a playoff game, but they lost so they will not continue. It was a really close game, they were tied at the end.. In addition to baseball games and practices, there have been all sorts of end of the year activities. We've had awards shows, band concerts.. Then of course I've had my band booster duties, I am taking over a position on the executive board so have had numerous meetings with the new board and the old board to learn about our positions and to discuss how we want things to go moving forward.. I haven't had much time to myself until tonight, and tonight I had a slew of things on my to-do list. I had to update the band website, which has been my job for 3 years but it's been getting neglected lately.. Then I had to catch up on e-mails, send out a few emails, make some plans with people who have ordered fundraiser items from us that still have not picked them up.. I haven't even so much as checked in on my oldest son in a few days. I forgot to mention that he got another car... his 3rd car now and he's only been driving for about a year. He crashed his last 2 cars and has been without a vehicle since November. My husband's boss sold his car to my son for $500 and he came by and picked it up a week ago. I keep meaning to check and see how he and the car are doing, but just haven't had the time. I did text him tonight and both are just fine! I am hoping now that baseball is over and school is ending that I might have a bit more free time.. but with these kids that may not be the case! They always seem to be involved in something. My daughter informed me today that soccer starts in 2 weeks, and band season will begin July 10th.. No rest for the wicked..

It is good to stay busy, with that tribe of yours you are super busy though! I am sure that you have fun going to all of the games and practises.

@katsmeow1213 I was the same way, I'd go to the games but my heart was never in it until it was time to leave. Soccer, that was another story, I just loved that game, and always had a lot of fun on the sidelines as a spectator.

@Juliaacv I like soccer, but I'm finding that I really don't enjoy watching the younger kids play anything. I think maybe I've been doing it too long. My oldest was into every sport, he's 20 now and I watched him come up through it all. Now my twins are at the varsity level which I love watching.. but the younger 2 are still in rec league and it pains me to watch the young kids try to play because they're so awful! LOL I mean I know they're kids and learning, and I'm not that crazy, competitive type of parent that expects perfection.. I just don't enjoy watching it anymore until they're a bit older!

Did things eventually get better with baseball for your son? Well good the season is over now. This is our second week of summer vacation, but like your kids, my kids are always doing something too. It's gonna be a busy summer / rest of the year!

This is our last week of school. The twins are done, there's only a few finals left but they don't have any so they don't have to go. Baseball never got much better, I just stopped paying as much attention. My son was enjoying it and that's all that matters so I let the rest go.

@much2say I don't know yet. I hope we can steer him towards something else, but we'll see when next season comes around.

@katsmeow1213 It's a big relief when school is finally out ! Well I'm glad your son continued to enjoy baseball - is he going to go for it again next season?

Lol! I remember those days, but in retrospect, the years fly by. Enjoy them now before they're long gone. Now my son and daughter in law are busy and zipping all over town and states. Of course, we only had two, unlike you!
