Vermont Country Store Is A Must Visit

Every time we go up Route 103 in Vermont we must stop at the Vermont Country Store. It is really a little piece of Vermont in a building. Yesterday, as usual wee stopped there. It is about 2 hours into our trip so a good opportunity to stretch our legs and walk around. The first thing we do is head for the food section. The have loads of things to sample. Honestly, you can pretty much fill up on samples. Lots of Vermont cheese samples too!! I ended up buying two dip mixes, a chunk of Vermont cheddar and buttermilk pancake mix. Then I headed to the kitchen section. I always love to browse through their great selection and I bought a glass jar to make homemade salad dressing, it has recipes on the side. The last section we checked was the clothing and we bought Al a new hat. Most people who were visiting the store were headed to the candy section. They sell candy by the pound, the old fashioned penny candies which of course these days are more like a dime lol There is also a section with body products and good old fashioned toys. You can spend a couple hours here just taking everything in and there is even a covered kissing bridge in the grounds. You can order sandwiches inside with bottles of local soda or grab a burger or an ice cream outside at the snack bar. You gotta love the Vermont Country Store.

I really think that people do make the trip to Vermont just to visit the store, the parking lots are filled with cars from many states.

Yes, I have been to the one in Weston as well. But, this one is on 103 which is the road we take to get to Rutland so on our way. The one in Weston has a great restaurant right next door that I love.

I like to check out their website in case I find an article of clothing I like and can afford. If I had a truly mobile home I could take a trip up that way just to check out their goodies ..... but 2,325 miles is just a bit far for me to go.

They are not affordable in most cases but the food samples make you forget that when you are in the store. lol I bought a glass salad dressing jar with recipes on it for $10, my daughter bought hers at Home Goods for $3.99, they are identical.
