I Can't Sleep

It's 4:45 A.M. and I'm wide awake and have been up for at least an hour. My thoughts are tumbling around in my head, so a little myLotting seemed a good way to settle them down.
At least I know the sun will rise later today like it's supposed to. Every day has 24 hours in it and I just claimed a few extra for today.

That sounds like an unusual time to swim.

@Jeanniemaries The Y opens at 5 and is active at that hour by retirees and those who get their laps in before work.

@Jeanniemaries I was sleeping well when a strong wind from the north caused the door of the bedroom to slam and I woke up in terror. I have no luck.

@LadyDuck Oh gosh, that would be horrible! Nothing like being jerked out of a sound sleep.

It's hard to be tired all day long. Hopefully tonight you'll make up for the loss.

@Jeanniemaries I have tried everything to get a good nights sleep but I rarely sleep more than 4 hours. I was fine until I went through menopause...that's when it all started.

Yes, I did. I feel fit as a fiddle now. It's not a common thing for me. I have a good sleep routine so it was surprising.

It's certainly the place to be if one is at loose ends in the middle of the night!

There are many nights I cannot sleep. Especially since having the Surgery a month ago and sometimes being in some extreme pain. Glad myLot is around for me to come post on then, even if it always has to be from my tablet or phone.

I never use it from my iPad or iPhone. It's too hard to type using thumbs. I'm sure my typing teachers are rolling over in their graves.

That is usually my response. Now with the home project going I didn't have the luxury. Today the project is over.

Good way to look at this issue. Most we know don't sleep as much as they think they should. Creative minds are often too busy to sleep!

I very seldom have a problem going to sleep or sleeping but the few times I do I use a 'trick' I learned in therapy---"smell the roses and blow out the candles"--just means inhale deeply, hold, the exhale all your breath out--do it 10 times and you will fall asleep within 10 minutes. It does work!
By the way for 50 years my theory has been "As long as I wake up in the morning I have it made!"

Sorry that you couldn't sleep. I got up earlier because I was too warm.

It's getting to be that time of year when it's hot all through the night.
