I believe I was in the middle of a response to someone, when BAM, the internet went out. Not long after, all the power went out. My nice cool little rain turned into a major thunder storm with high winds. We gave up and went to bed. It was about 7:20 our time. The power resumed pretty quickly, but it took the internet probably all night. As you can see we are back in business now. We got up really early and the coffee is good. I think we will go in to work early, because we can. Have a great day, hopefully I will see you later on.

Our electricity only flickered. I'm super sad though because the high winds took out over half of my giant sunflowers!

Your sunflowers may stand back up unless they were snapped off at the ground. Their root is usually as long as the top is above ground.

@GardenGerty most snapped completely off....others were broke. I tried to prop the latter back up but the leaves are all droopy so I suppose I will just pull them out.

We had a line of storms roll through and I lost internet for maybe 15 mins, usually it's longer than that.

I am not sure how long it was. We went to bed as it had been a tiring day.

We had one of those here a few weeks back. We actually got an email from the ISP with a nice apology.

It has not happened that often by storms. Once "something" damaged the fiber optics a ways away---wonder if it was a squirrel.

I love storms, but not the power outages they cause, lol. Especially now that my life is mostly spent on the computer. I'm glad you got your electricity back on. Several years ago, our power was out for a full week . Very unusual for these parts, not for it to go out, but for that long. It was because there were windstorms all over the state of California, and they were obviously getting the power restored to metro areas first. They got to us at the very last. Hope you have a wonderful day!

That sounds like the year they had ice storms here. Where I was working and many towns around were out of power for two weeks or so.

I have no serious down time these past few months in here. Thank goodness. Glad it didn't take long for the power to come back on for you.

The occasional storm is part of life around here. Most of the time they have no severe effect.

I always charge up my phone and make sure I have plenty to read before a potentially bad storm comes in. We don't get many power outages because of storms, but when they do come it's obviously out of nowhere. Good you can go into work early, but does that mean you leave early?

Actually, it is hubby who is working. Yes. He can start as early as 6 a.m. and he can only work 7.5 hours. That is counting drive time. No overtime allowed. Phones were charged but we were nicely tired.

@GardenGerty Atleast his job is flexible.. Does he still do the vendor / sampler type work? Is he able to leave midway to go to a dr's appointment? Or would he be better suited to go in after said appointment?
