Proud To Be An American

I have never been ashamed of my country, I love the USA and I will fly my flag as a proud American. Some may not like the current President but I do. I did not like the last President but I chose not to bash the man because he was doing the best he could, after all the people voted him in and NOT Hillary Clinton. What I have noticed in the last few months is that the stock market is recovering, meaning more people are going back to work. The $3.50 to $5.00 per gallon of milk has went down to .99 to $1.19 a gallon. Gas prices just this passed week fell from over $2.00 down to $1.88 here in central Alabama. President Trump is using a word that has been pushed aside for far to long, and that word is " No." I am all for compromise but sometimes you have to say " No, I cannot agree to those terms." The USA is becoming great again and in no way will I ever bash a president of the USA, whether I like him or not.

That's great that you are happy with things. I am not. I am still proud to be an American though. Disliking Trump doesn't make me un-American.

I never said anyone was un-American. How was life any better last year at this time than it is now? What is different?

@NJChicaa Well now that I think back, things were bad HERE, The race (black and whites) thing was in full force splitting America and other countries laughing that the President done nothing. People could NOT even say who they were voting for because The democrats would beat people up of they said Trump. I also want you to go back to Obama`s first term, listen to what he was being investigated for, this is what always happens when a new President comes into office, its nothing new. BUT I was not talking about the media circus, soap opera stuff, I am talking about how much life is better, better because of the economy, the jobs, the stocks rising, people buying homes again.People are not forced to buy insurance they cannot afford, or be made pay your income tax if you chose food for your children instead $2,000 a month for health insurance. All of that was NOT good last year or the last 8-10 years. So what people gossip about others bothers your daily life?

@andriaperry Well there weren't like 45 different investigations involving the President. Not everyone in the White House needed to obtain a personal lawyer. The President's lawyer didn't need to get a lawyer. Europe still respected us and thought of us as the leader of the free world. Foreign leaders weren't openly mocking and laughing at our President. Legislation was actually getting PASSED. Progress was being made. I would say that we weren't at the brink of war with North Korea but apparently Donnie sent his esteemed Ambassador Dennis Rodman there to work on things.

I respect that but stock market has nothing to do with people going back to work, just means they are confident in what is going on. It is connected but not in the way it should be. Stock market actually should be solely for the rich, maybe higher middle class. Working people have nothing to do with that other than building the system on their backs.

Everyone has a choice to make and run their own business or work for someone else. When the stock market goes up it means the demand is up, people are spending money, Hence more people needed for the demand. Means more people go to work. Not everyone wants the responsibility of running the business and hiring employees. BUT anyone can invest in the stock market, all they have to do is buy shares of stocks its not hard at all.

Depending on where you shop milk prices are different. Gas prices drop at certain times of the year, they always have and probably always will.

@AbbyGreenhill You are right but its also cheaper at other stores, the reason I mentioned those two stores is because most people on a lower income do shop at walmart to make their few dollar go further.

Wow, that's a pretty good price for gas there, I've not seen it that low in several years, or a couple at least. Here's it's been staying at about 2.24 per gallon, but a few months ago it was up between 2.45 and 2.65. Our store has been having a milk war with Walmart and has slowly come down in store brand milk. We're holding steady at 99cents right now. Our eggs have gone down to 49cents per dozen, or .99 for a two dozen package. Specialty eggs are still more, but not as sky high as they used to be. I agree with you on your sentiments about Trump and previous presidents we've had. I hope that people will settle down and let him do his job. No one is perfect, and everyone should be treated with respect and dignity.

Thank you. I do believe the gas would be lower but the last President taxed it again, Plus we have high state taxes on gas. .49 for eggs is awesome, I seen them .79 a couple days ago and got a dozen, we are not used to eating a lot of eggs since they had went up, we are sorta off eggs but I use them when cooking something, baking etc.

Haven't seen the prices drop yet. But usually gas prices always go down for the summer then go back up in the fall. Or vice versa. Aha.

I am impressed that you don't bash your president. Even I would not bash him. But is that really connected to being proud of your country? I know the phrase "Mr. President" evokes some deep emotions in the Americans.... but am curious still.

I like your last statement. I did not vote for him nor did I vote for the last one but it's not my job to judge prematurely. The only president I can say I seriously did NOT like was Bush Jr.

Your post is full of positivity. I like it. it's like it's telling me that "I have to submit to governing authorities" and that's what we should do. Great things happen when we work together.
