What do you eat in the summer you don;t eat the rest of the year?

For me, it would be watermelon and cherries. I eat alot of both of them in the summer, and rarely have them the rest of the year. Watermelon is really cheap and prevalent in the summer. I also sometimes drink lemonade, and don't have it during the year really. What about you? What are your summer dishes?

I love those dark sweet cherries, but our local store only carries them when they are in season.

@snowy22315 Yes, they are seasonal. I do buy a little individual cherry pie as a reward when I go grocery shopping at Walmart. I eat those all year.

I, too, love watermelon and bing cherries and all fruits and veggies that are seasonal only. I'm lucky to have lots of fresh fruit and vegetables in the winter, because they are grown locally in Florida.

Watermelon would be something we only eat in the summer months. Sometimes fresh pineapple. That would be about it.

Turnips, it's not possible to produce turnips here in our place during rainy days, so, I eat a lot of it during summer time.

Hmmm, not something I would choose to eat in the summer. I think of that more as a Fall, root vegetable.

@snowy22315 honey dews ( the orange variety) are srcaped using a hand tool. Very cold water and ice are added to the sherds, then sugar or milk is added depending on your preference and it makes for a good summer drink to beat the heat. We also eat it just cut up.

Even though we can pretty much get anything all year 'round these days, I'd have to say watermelon and cherries taste best when it's truly in season (and like you said, much cheaper!) and we eat more of it during summer. I probably eat more sandwiches in general because the kids are off from school and we pack lunches to take on our adventures.

I love watermelon since it's so plentiful in the summer. I also love zucchini and corn on the cob which is also more plentiful in the summer and it's so delicious grilled on the bbq.
