Oh yeah, this is definitely a strange June

A pond in the yard

Ok, a lot of Mylotters talk about their storms and such which I envy so what do I do? I rain dance . This time that rain dance musta been too convincing . It began to really pour about 90 minutes ago and then it hailed for about 10 minutes and it's still sprinklin. It's in the high 90s right now but when it started to hail it was at least 101 out. All the hail has melted but I did see that it was at least large marble sized and sounded scary, just ask my furmily. Sooo freaky. Isn't it odd to get hail when it's so hot out? That picture is of the little pond I now have in my front yard, it'll evaporate before too long but until the mornin it'll be a teeny pond.

woo-hoo! i'd so hoped that'cher were gettin' that rain they showed'n the radar, hon. not so happy 'bout the hail though, that we could all do without. glad such 'twas small though. the youngest got hammered 'bout a week 'go with golf ball sized 'n 80mph winds. broke nearly e'ery window they've got, their neighbors shed blew 'part'n cratered their a/c unit 'n 'f course their autos got the crap beat outta 'em ('n the roof...lets not ferget the roof, which they jest got put'n a month 'go). when the heat 'tis'n 'tis usually when we get hail. outside 'f the 'freak' hail storms'n january anyhow. livin''n a mobile home myself, i can feel fer yer critters. i presume ya didn't've any damage? if'n that wee pond 'twas here, ducks would'a arrived 'fore nightfall 'n claimed such's their own fer what lil time 't survived, lol.

You're farther north so you get to see kritters we haven't had here in years. Ducks stopped comin out our way when the Rio stopped sportin constant water, now it's regulated by the dam in Caballo and solely for the use of the farmers here. I recall back in the 1970s when the river was full most of the time and near Santa Teresa there were water fowl, it's all dried up now and the water fowl don't come anymore

@rebelann what?? i dunno which emo thingy to use? this news gets my gander, saddens my heart'n a few other thingies. what efforts, if'n any, 're bein' done 'bout this? the ducks don't stay 'round these parts (outside'f 't the zoo 'n a couple 'f ponds'n town) 'xcept durin' the 'rainy season' we used to get. i recall some years back when we'd 'bout 5 1/2" 'f the wet schtuff'n 'bout 4 hours time. flooded the whole place. my round pen seemed to the ducks to be the perfect place to hang their hats fer nearly 4 days 'fore such dried out. i reckon they thought such t'was their own private playa, lol. seems our government proclaims to've the interests 'f all when they make their decisions, eh? with lil to no regard's to the outcome'n all those that'll suffer from such..

I blame overpopulation @crazyhorseladycx I just don't get why so many women are having so many babies when it's going to have a really bad effect on our planet. Already our desert regions can't support the amount of people living here, the water basin beneath us is drying up at an alarming rate which makes me wonder where the water company is getting it's water. So much for wildlife, they can't survive where there's no water.

I don't let the heat bother me @Shavkat as long as it is not humid I can handle the heat ..... at least it is not as hot as some places in Arizona where the temperatures get over 48(c)

We get hail when it is very hot outside, because the droplets of water freeze far up in the atmosphere, they become too heavy and fall on the earth.

I knew the process but in this region cold is not usual, neither are clouds. It's been unusually cloudy here but not cloudy as you would get.

Yes it has been weird @LadyDuck I recall 2011 was also weird, in that year the winds never actually stopped blowing which was very irritating.

@rebelann It's a weird year, we had snow at the beginning of May and two weeks later a heat wave.

We had a heavy rain today while we were on the road. But everyone was driving carefully so we made it home safely.

Weather has been erratic lately. Blame the climate change for all these odd things happening.

Yeah, too much of our forests have disappeared over the last few centuries and we're dealing with the effects.

After Egypt got snow not too long ago it should not @Yadah04 the climate is probably in the throws of changing, I have read that it is normal for a planet to do that every few millennia and with all the destruction the human race has done to our natural world we may have caused it to happen earlier than expected

@rebelann exactly. Experiencing hail is very unlikely in a tropical country like ours. But it is happening lately. Should we be amazed when snow hits us? Lol.

The weather is really playing games those days. I hate the ran but is important at times as it helps in cooling down the temperature
