Good morning from my hospital room. I am in a private room which is nice. They gave me a sleeping pills so I slept good last night. I had a good cry this morning so I am feeling better about things. My daughter, granddaughter, son and my fiance will be up later today. I look forward to their visit. My grandson was here yesterday which was nice. The nurses here are great and have made me feel better about the surgery. I am so scared and have worried about not making it through but they keep reassuring me that the changes of that are less the one percent but I still worry. The surgery will be 3-4 hours long. Thanks for all your kinds workday of support and prayers. I appreciate that. I will reply to each and every one of them a but later. Just waiting for breakfast to arrive. I wonder what it will be? lol oh the dreaded hospital food.

I think it's normal to worry and be a little scared. But I'm sure that everything will be alright. You do have family with you and you have their support, which is always good.

It's natural to be worried about the surgery, but modern medicine has progressed so much that heart surgery is almost routine. My husband had similar surgery about 9 years ago, and it's given him a new lease of life. I'm not playing down the seriousness of your condition, just trying to show you that it can be successfully treated. The best of luck to you.

I don't think your fears will completely vanish but with visits from your family and letting it sink in should help. Be grateful you got to the hospital in time and it is something that can be fixed.

Don't be worried. I never have been in a hospital when I was in the hospital for my Total Abdominal Hysterectomy when I was 38 year old. I was actually excited being in a hospital and for the surgery. I don't know but I was so confident that it will go well and is painless as my surgeon assured me. And it did went so well. I woke up when I was already in the recovery room.

I am going backwards I think.......I just read your breakfast post. I'm glad that you were able to let it all out, can you talk to your doctor or even any of the nurses to tell them that you keep things bottled up? They may be able to suggest something to help, or maybe you should be posting a vent discussion here every so often. I thought of you at the end of my day yesterday, and worried that you were alone, and probably scared, I only wished that the staff would fill in and be kind to you, which you're saying they are, and help you feel more comfortable. I only hope that they continue so that you can try to let go and relax. Know that I'm thinking and praying for you. Miss ya

@Happy2BeMe I know that the procedures differ, but when our son has surgery to have his wisdom teeth removed, he researched what vitamins he needed his body to have to heal safely and quickly. I remember for the days leading up to that date, he maintained his hydration and he healed so quickly. I believe that yogurt was one of the foods that he had to have a lot of during that last week, if you have time research it, or better yet, ask your doctor. Tell him your concerns, maybe he will send a dietician to speak to you. I cannot imagine how you've had to change your way of thinking and living in the past few days. But just remain focused on the fact that you WILL make it thru the surgery and you WILL recover-this world cannot be ready to go on without someone as sweet and kind as you are. I hope that my comments do not scare you but keep assist you in getting ready to do that post "I'm home from the hospital" which is one that we all want to read.

Thank you..I am good while my family is here but when I'm alone I cry a lot. I am worried and I worry about the recovery process. I am looking forward to feeling better because I have not felt good in quite some time. I am already seeing things through different eyes since all this happened.

Just take your time and have a good rest. You also need to have a strong body to have the surgery. It will go well and everything will be back to normal soon.

If it's any comfort or assurance to you, I know of other people who have had similar surgery and they are all doing well now. I know of people who chose not to have the surgery and they are not doing well now. I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other. I'm just telling what I see. Many are doing well post-surgery. You'll probably be fine as well.
