Situational Awareness

With all of these attacks and such lately I worry about my kids even here in bumwacka Idaho. There has been a lot of speculation and discussion on what we do now. We go on with our lives but with strength and added awareness. We need to always be aware when we are out in public. We just don't know now days when something like this will happen again or where. It is a horror that has become the norm in the world. We just have to be aware. What do you think you will do to be more aware? I'm going to remind my kids each time they go out to be aware and don't take any risks. And, I am going to tell my kids I love them even more often.

I think learning to be more situationally aware is a huge deal, and learning to defend oneself and make better decisions as a whole (listen to that little warning voice in your head, dont cut down areas that look hinky, etc)

I think going with our gut feelings is very important.

@Jessicalynnt .....Ignore is big I think. I have learned to listen to it. I used to just do a lot of over thinking.

@celticeagle I agree, and I think many either ignore that voice, or dont have one

I know what you mean since people today have a "If it feels good, do it" mentality without thinking of the damage their actions will bring upon others.

When I was growing up I was taught to be respectful and now days I just don't see a lot of that.

@Deepizzaguy .....I think it is important to take care of their own little corner of their worlds. Teach our children right and be good neighbors.

I have raised my son in this manner since he was old enough to walk and talk.. The way that we have lived demanded it. So you may say it is bred into him. No fear of no awareness here. In todays world it is vital.

I used to have my granddaughter come in and watch Oprah when she had child safe shows. Awareness is so important.

I was amazed by how safe I felt up in Grass Valley CA over the weekend. What kind of attacks have been happening lately?

You haven't heard them in the news? We had a boy here locally get beaten and the authorities think it was a hate crime. But they are happening all over the country.
