I cried when I did but I know it has to be done. I feel great now but if I don't get it done the next heart attack will be fatal. It is just a matter of time. Scary to think that this is my only option at a chance to live long life. A week ago I never imagined I would be facing a double bypass. The surgeon will be in within the next few days to set the date and answer any questions I have. My only question is will I make it throught the surgery? But of course they can't answer that. Nobody really knows. They said it was heredity and stress related. I would have to figure out how to make my life less stressful but there isn't much I can do about my genes. So now it is just a waiting came. Today my grand daughter came for a visit. It was nice to see her. My daughter, son, my fiance and a friend I use to work with all came to visit today. It helped pass the day. How was your day?

My uncle had a bypass surgery. He had about 4 blocked arteries and it was a success. You will make it for sure. Will pray for you

And you will be in hospital no doubt until they operate right Laurel? Yes this is sad that this has happened but I am happy you caught this in time. I am glad everyone is there about you Laurel. Bless you..it must be a drag to be in there when you want to be home. How long after surgery do you know that you may have to stay in and recover in the hospital? I guess it all depends on how it goes.

@Happy2BeMe Yes I thought they may keep you even longer after surgery. Yes you will take quite a while to heal there Laurel because of the bone. I am glad you are in there as to go home would be lethal for you. Do let us know the date of surgery please so we can hold vigil for you.

Oh you will have a successful operation. My father-in-law had it before and he is already more than 60 plus yet he wasn't scared at all.

Do you take a statin? Have you had your cholesterol checked? I am just curious, I take a statin and I hope it will protect me from this eventuality.

@Happy2BeMe I think I am very grateful that my young doctor talked me into them about 7 years ago. I was reluctant to take a daily medication but I hope it is keeping my arteries clear. I am sending you a hug!!

I am consistently doing the same thing. Taking hubby to work and waiting and yes, spending money. He did get his Occupational Therapist eval for driving, but then the notes have to be dictated, sent to the doctor and he has to release Bob to drive. Hang in there. Learn to stress less. Anxiety is a killer.

My day was spdnt outside while my man cut grass then after dinner I had a little spot of grasz to rake then took a shower and relaxed and did more mylotting. Hopefully this time next week it will all be over and you will be recuperating. That was nice you got to see your granddaughter daughter son and fiance today. At least you can still get some mylotting in and it is relaxing. Did they say anything about changing your diet at all? I knos my mom and uncle had to after theirs

I am sure the waiting is nerve wracking, but that kind of major surgery is almost routine today. I would feel the same way though if I were facing it. I am glad the problem was discovered in time to save you.
