It had been a while since Indian cricket team coach Anil Kumble and Captain Virat Kohli's differences had come to the limelight in media reports. The cricket advisory committee(CAC) which has three legends of Indian cricket in Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman and BCCI tried to sort their differences but it apparently did not succeed. Now, India lost the final of Champions trophy to Pakistan by a big 180 run margin. Even if one excludes the high voltage and high prestige factor associated with an India-Pakistan match, India's defeat was shocking after the overall great performance by the Indian team. However, Anil Kumble did some one-on-one sessions with some players after the match and was straightforward and a bit harsh to some, in a move that did not went down well with players and also increased the friction with Virat Kohli. So Anil Kumble decided to step down, and the hunt for new Indian coach is on. Some contenders are Tom Moddy, Richard Pybus, Lalchand Rajput. I feel this matter could have been handled better but if things go tense to such an extent, its better that the arrangement is changed. News source: What do the cricket fans and other guys here have to say?
Many well-wishers of Indian cricket would have been tempted to give a piece of their mind to the team after its 180-run loss to arch-rival Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final.

@Elisa1234 a lot! In fact till mid 2000s I was an even a bigger fan of cricket. But later as too many cricket matches started, my interest waned a bit but it's still there.

For some time now I have not been following the cricket news. But I think under the circumstances,Kumble stepping down was a good thing. All the patching up between him and the players are not going to last. Now for the next person in his place.

Even before the Champions Trophy there was something going otherwise why should BCCI invite applications for the job of coach!

@Sreekala I think issues do happen, but this time, it has not been handled properly and allowed to go to media for too much needless publicity. @HAPPSINGH well can't blame BCCI for everything. The players too should be more understanding. @vsai2008 Yes its not proper- and that too with a successful coach. @franxav Yes but in between it looked like the issue might be resolved. @Saroj13 Yes I fully agree.
