Too hot to sleep!

The last few days it's been so hot, there's a heatwave going on. Usually, my house is quite cool, but when it stays this warm for so many days in a row, it heats up quite a bit. In these temperatures, I always have trouble sleeping. I can't stand the heat of my blanket, but at the same time I don't really like the feeling of having nothing on me when I sleep. It's really frustrating, because I wake up in the middle of the night and have problems going back to sleep again. Do you have this problem as well? What do you do to make the heat more bearable?

We have the same problem right now, there is a heat wave and the worst will be the next 4 days.

@LadyDuck Apparently it's going to storm here tomorrow. I don't necessarily want there to be a thunderstorm, but I'll take anything for it to cool down a bit!

We would open a pair of our screened windows when it is hot. But when it is still so hot, I would usually take off my loose shirt and just hug my small pillow to my bust . It is so cool that way. No blanket , just a thin scarf that covers my butt.

I also open my windows, but it's not enough to keep it cool.

@maclanis Yes. Hubby and I don't have air conditioners, because they eat up a lot of electricity and it is expensive here. But we each have a steady stand fan to fan us by the feet of our bed.

Yes, I have this problem I find it very difficult to sleep in heat I have tried multiple things.. I sleep in front of the Air Conditioner and fan when I did not have an Air conditioner I used to put on a really big and slightly damp t-shirt and have the fan blowing on me and it would at least usually help me to fall asleep.. I usually woke up again after it dried off and the heat started getting to me again. or I would Wet my hair also and lay down in front of the fan too... it helps cool the body off.

I don't have an air conditioner, or a fan, maybe I should consider getting one.

I try to do this as well, but it doesn't really help me that much at night! I guess drinking water might cool me down at night as well, though.

I think it is fine to have a think blanket. I also can't sleep without it.

I guess I should find a lighter blanket, because I'm still using a thick, warm one.

No, like I mentioned in another comment, not that many people have airconditioning here.

Warm weather does bring restless sleep. You could try sleeping with fans circulating air.

Yes, I might get a fan, because I don't want to lose too much sleep!
