LeafblowerMan (LbM) gets Served

How fickle is the Law?

June 21, 2017 The saga continues, and heats up... LbM has been harrassing his next door neighbors (again, and still) this summer. To the major shock to several of us who are not directly involved has been that one of his neighbors has now been evicted, along with the other two people who live with him. A further terrible thing about the one neighbor getting evicted is that one of the three occupants of that home is facing homelessness as a result. She's a totally innocent bystander in this conflict and she's disabled, too. She has a social worker and one other person who are both working to find her a place to shelter. The challenge is that there is such a great number of homeless people in this area that even finding a place to sleep for the night involves getting onto a very very long waiting list. She told me the wait for a place is about two years. That isn't much help to her. She has become collateral damage in this conflict. LbM has been "written up", as he has been on many occasions. It's just a slap on the wrist, although supposedly enough write-ups can get a person evicted. I'm not sure how high the stack of write-ups on LbM is, but it must be setting some sort of record. Still, he's allowed to stay. Yesterday, though, I learned of a new development in the drama. One of the neighbors has taken out a restraining order on LbM. This means LbM can no longer take the short route to the other side of the park because that would cause him to walk directly in front of the neighbor's trailer. Taking the long way to the other side of the park, however, forces him to walk past my front door on his many many trips to confer with his cohorts on the little street which runs the length of the other side of the park. I don't care how many times he treks past my front door, as long as he leaves me strictly alone. The best situation for me as a resident here is that he totally ignores my existence on the planet, as I do his, a task which apparently he's unable or unwilling to maintain. Stay tuned for further developments...

Yes and she tried to negotiate with the park owner but the owner shrugged her off, saying "Well, you are living with the wrong people I guess."

@TiarasOceanView Thank you, all prayers, thoughts, candles, good wishes, etc. happily accepted! I'm just happy that this time I'm not a principal player in the ongoing drama.

I remember reading about LbM! How did he earn his name? A link is fine.

I'd have to link you to that other site that no longer exists, lol. His favorite tool of annoyance and aggression is his leafblower. I've decided it's a Freudian kind of a hangup. He has huge anger issues. I've thanked my lucky stars I somehow escaped being his next door neighbor. Bad enough being three spaces away from him. I nicknamed him to protect his privacy.

@blitzfrick So his Leafbwer was his...his "power tool." I think I remember him from the site that will not be named. I'm glad to hear an update.

@TheHorse LOL, yes. I like that term for it, and you've hit the "nail on the head." I truly wish there were no update, or no reason for one. The restraining order, and the eviction of his neighbor, seems to have dampened his enthusiasm, at least for now. I just wish the innocent disabled woman who was living with the evicted neighbors wasn't going to end up homeless. That is the worst part, and certainly doesn't earn LbM any points in my book.

No kidding! Maybe someday I'll gather all my documentation together and do just that. Might as well make a few bucks off it.

Thank you, that's what I hope too. More than that, I hope to move away. Far, far away from him. But you know, there are nutty people everywhere. Maybe I should live in a cave, lol.

This guy is one lunatic! I feel so badly for that poor disabled lady, and hope a solution can be found for her housing. I wonder if you can slap him with a restraining order, too?

Because I'm a senior citizen, it would be comparatively easy for me to slap him with a restraining order, but he'd have to harrass me first. He hasn't been aggressive towards me since I stopped talking to him altogether. I did have a Strange Encounter with him a couple of days ago and I reported it to the park manager via email, and kept a copy for my records. Even though it was unsolicited and unwanted by me, it wasn't hostile, just strange—as I sat on my porch having my morning coffee, he glideded up on his bicycle and thanked me for the shirt he was wearing, a shirt I gave him years ago. It weirded me out, but it isn't enough to get a restraining order, which I would LOVE to do.
