Why is that we are not allowed to talk to our team mates?

So if you happen to know my story about how I get my new job as a Virtual Customer Assistant, well your probably know what I'm talking about here. So I've been working for a month with my new home based job, and ever since. I have never seen any of my teammates and even our Team Leader. We can only communicate through voice meeting through Skype and Gomeeting. Then just today, I found out that we are not allowed to communicate with any of my teammates, and once we caught, we will get fired. But I am already talking to one of my teammates already, and she said we need to keep it a secret or else, so as much as possible we communicate through messenger. And I still wonder why we are not allowed to communicate with them? Do you have any idea?

I've never heard of that before. It doesn't make sense but hopefully they have a good reason for it.

could it be a case of customer-snatching if you know each others' prospective respondents?
