So the day started good. then it rained some but not enough apparently for some neighbors to mow their lawns in the rain. It stopped and one came by that will mow for 17 bucks. several days I been mentioning the yard is up to our butts. lol and both men in the house saying they would do it but did not. So, I tell the guy go ahead and just give him 20 bucks , keep the change. The sky opened up as soon as he started but he kept at it till he ran over some kind of sprinkler thing in our yard. and bent his blade. Says he will be back later when he gets it fixed. Now daughters bf is saying he could sue us. Really? and the guys here are upset that I let the guy do it instead of them. messed my rest of the day.

Oh no Bonnie..I dont think he is going to do that! Don't get all worried about it..you did what you had to do..it is a shame he ran over that sprigget though. And if no one in the house the buys were doing it, then what were you supposed to do. They are just mad because you showed them up. Don't let them worry you.

bless yer heart, hon. i do wonder how short he 'twas cuttin' said grass to hit a sprinkler head?? mercy, last time someone came to momma's to offer to mow, they charged her $40 jest to do her small front yard, used her mower 'n then didn't e'en trim/clean'p their mess! 'tis absurd 'f the folks't yer place to think that fella can sue ya o'er such. 'sides, they should'a got off their duff's 'n tended to such'n a timely fashion so's ya t'weren't put'n that spot'n the first place.

exactly. it seems there is a sprinkler system thing right on the ground in out front yard. its like some kind of block thing. but the grass was so high, he just didn't take time to look at the indent there. it was a riding mower and all i can think is he wanted to finish the day even in the rain.

@crazyhorseladycx yes said he just got it. last year he was the same one came around before grandson did it. so i told him no at that time. grandson was really good about mowing when he first moved in, then of course that fell by the way.

@bunnybon7 a ridin' mower?? dang, how big're the yards 'round there, lol. i didn't get a ridin' mower fer these 4 acres which're tended 's a 'yard' 'til 'bout 2 years 'fore i fell ill. the hubs broke 't, ran o'er a boulder he'd put out fer landscape...it still aint fixed, nor any 'f the other mowers here. i've a battery operated weed eater 'n a brush mower fer the heavier schtuff. lots 'f 'xercise there, lol.

Boy, that would give me plenty of material for teaching the guys a few things. If this person even tried to sue you it would be a ridiculous suit due to him being a moron. Hope it gets mowed.

I say 20 bucks is well worth it . . . at least that guy would get it done for sure! These things happen in gardening (my dad is a gardener and has ran over bunch of stuff like little toys that kids had left in the yard that he didn't see). As for the guys in the house - it's their egos that were bent .

I don't think he can sue you, as he did it with his mower. Not any of you.

If he wanted to sue you he probably could, but it would be pretty stupid. He could not win anything from you. They should be glad you are trying to get things taken care of and save them some work.

Well it is a good thing that you got someone to.do this for you else no one else would have done it or you would have to wait for a very long time i don't think he will sue you.

thats what i would think. i mean people have hired others for hundreds of years to clean their lawns and i have never heard of someone getting sued by the cleaning person

I don't blame you at all for having someone else cut the yard. The guys shouldn't be complaining since they wouldn't do it themselves.
