Dear friends, I used to eat banana on empty stomach thinking that it is good for health. Earlier I read somewhere, fruits must be more beneficial if it eaten on an empty stomach. But today I have gone through an article where it is written, it is not good to eat banana on an empty stomach. It says the high level of sugar may make you feel drained after a few hours. It may make you sleepy and fatigue. Its acidic nature also may harm you some ways. According to experts, not only banana but other fruits also should not eat on an empty stomach. The reason is, now fruits are not natural any more. Artificially grown fruits may contain chemicals and chemicals are harmful for us than we think. So it is good to avoid having fruits on an empty stomach. This is not applicable for those who are growing/cultivating own fruits. How do you take/eat your fruits? Are you a fruit person on regular basis?

Is the fruits costly in your place? Or the cost depends on season?

I don't really care about it since I don't know which is better. Sometimes I have the banana when I am hungry and sometimes I have it right after a meal. I also know that usually the tennis players like to have a banana when they have a break. They can gain the energy soon after having a banana. So I think it is alright to have it when you have empty stomach.

I agree with your points, if we give more importance and take precautions we definitely will be in trouble.

I think it will be good if we eat fruits in between the breakfast and lunch. I mean a small meal in between the main meals.

@Sreekala yes..as they can be easily digested, its better to avoid them with heavy meals as it delays their digestion..in between meals is good i guess

Bananas do not taste anything like they used to so its very rare that I eat them I can tolerate things like cherries on their own but not melon which does not taste like melon either.

Yes, the fruits changed a lot due to the unnecessary interference of human beings.

I am a regular fruit person. I usually have 1 or 2 oranges an hour before breakfast every morning - sometimes I have a banana as well. Now that mangoes are in season (we have three mango trees) , I have a mango instead of the orange.

Yes,I have bananas in the morning sometimes. I don't have it on regular basis. I was not aware of it that we should not have fruits on an empty stomach. From now on wards I would not have fruits on an empty stomach.

Thank you for the information. Yes, I often take bananas first thing in the morning for breakfast. Those chemicals are surely messing up the natural benefits of otherwise healthy fruits.
