I´m just coming back from buying the prescription that the doctor gave me. I put up a poker face when the man at the drugstore told me the price of it!
The price was not something that any retired person can afford. I have to thank the several people that have helped me along the years so that I have a better retirement.
Still, I will have to win some money at the casino in Aruba if I want to buy the many things I need. There are the stolen things, the puppy, the food for the puppy, the vet, you name it. If I make a list of it all, I will not end. On top of it all, I will not take the laptop to the trip. So I will not earn here for about 20 days.
See you in 10 minutes. The new meds have to be eaten with the dinner and I don´t usually eat dinner. I´ll have to see what to eat.

@NJChicaa I just answered this but I´ll copy-paste it for you.In my country there´s no health insurance that covers meds. But there is something even better. The government takes care of the whole treatment for several ailments. My chemo was mostly covered by the government. Another part, which wasn´t covered by the government, was covered by an additional very inexpensive insurance that we pay as an extra of our normal insurance. If we hadn´t this, I would have had to sell my house to get the treatment.

Can you post from your phone while you are on vacation? At least pictures and a few short sentances, so at least you earn a little while you are gone.

I could if I knew how. But I think I prefer to enjoy the sun than to have my son in law teach me how to do it while looking at me with pity.

@Tina30219 I have heard people from the US that have had to ask for money to have chemo as their health insurance did not cover cancer.

@marguicha Wow glad you had these programs to help would not want to have to sell your home to get treatments but of course like you said if not for these you would have had to.

@marguicha yes start with a small capital but play aggressive with money that are from winnings not credit so as not to sink deeper

Medicines here are expensive but in many cases there are generic alternatives. And real expensive medication, such as chemotherapy, is paid in a great amount by the government.

@marguicha Chemotherapy is fully covered by the public health insurance as well as any kind of surgery, except aesthetic surgery.

Most everything is expensive nowadays but I for one think that medication being what people need they should be at reasonable prices especially for those who are retired. Hope you enjoy your trip and hope you win a bundle.
