Downton Abbey

So I spent the past week binge watching Downton Abbey on Amazon Prime, and I can't believe how amazing it was. Definitely one of my favorite shows. I had seen the first two seasons some time ago, but never finished it. I'm so glad I did. I'm sad that it isn't on anymore, but the last episode really tried to give closure to everyone that needed it. I read that the castle that it was filmed in, Highclere Castle, was saved from ruin from all of the tourist activity from the series. They were able to pay for badly needed renovations and to keep the castle in the family. George Herbert, 8th Earl of Carnarvon is the current owner of Highclere Castle. Have you ever seen Downton Abbey? Did you like it?

I will look up Poldark today. I'm addicted to English TV. Definitely an avid reader too. I will look into reading the books as well. Have you ever been to Highclere castle? I would love to see where Downton Abbey was filmed.

@JohnRoberts the original series, in my opinion, is very dated. The new series is pretty amazing I'm waiting to see how and if they adapt all the books as there is a significant time gap between the first book and the last.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch the entire series for free and there is supposed to be a movie coming.
