This month is the month to buy meat, sometimes I go a very long time before restocking the freezer since I am almost on an all vegetable diet, Plus when the price is right its time to restock! Since Tony is the main meat eater in this household I told him to pick out what he wants and he did, I chose turkey burger and chicken only, And his choices it did not surprise me. Here is the list : Pork ribs Pork tenderloin Sausage Bacon Cubed beef steak Me : Butter ball turkey burger Chicken leg quarters Total servings = 74 Total price paid ( with using $5.00 in coupons) = $44.57 Average amount per serving = .60 I try to do my best to stretch every penny, cause pennies are hard to earn nowadays.

when we stock our freezer with meat it's usually strip steak and rib eye steak at the butcher. We are due to go next week and it will expensive, but I don't mind paying for good meat. If I use a pound of bacon a year that's a lot. I can't eat pork so I limit my husbands intake. I recently got into ground turkey but I'm ODing on it now. I thought you are vegetarian meaning no poultry?

@andriaperry I was questioning what you eat, not what your husband eats. I would assume the doctor has given him suggestions as to what not to eat.

@AbbyGreenhill He is not my husband but no the Dr. did not, they are just happy he eats, most people that just had chemo look like skin and bones and are so sick and cant walk, etc. Sorry, I did not mean to do the old lady babble.

Abby I was nearly a vegan a couple years ago and when we began to travel it was hard to avoid all animal products, I began to eat fish and poultry again, on occasion a steak. I am slowly getting back to the vegetarian lifestyle, " slowly" because of my health, if I get down sick I have no one to take care of me. Plus I just feel better without meats. Tony has high cholesterol ( yay for pork!) and is on meds, but he just fought cancer with chemo and radiation and even had a tumor cut out of his liver, so I wont tell him how to eat, I will just let him eat whatever makes him happy, Ya know?

I always have lists before going to the groceries so I know how much I would be spending for the week. I am not also a meat eater, but I have to consider my kids nutrition so, meat is always on a weekly budget.

That is a very good price per serving. I don't eat a lot of meat either but I have to say I don't like turkey burgers, the color is just off-putting to me.

We always assess our meat purposes by how much per serve it costs too. You've done very well here.

And it`ll last for a long long time, 2 months break down would be around $22 per month, as weekly it would be $5.50 per week for meats
