Don't start a major project when you're in pain!

My husband is in the middle of completely remodeling my bathroom, so my house is a mess again. (I know @Jeanniemaries can relate!) Our son-in-law came from Charleston yesterday to help and I'm so thankful our son is coming this morning to help also. My husband had an MRI yesterday on his back because of the severe pain he has in both legs. Most people wouldn't dream of starting a project like this while they're hurting so bad they can't walk without a cane. But my husband gets a project in his head and there's not much that will stop him if at all possible. Waiting to see if the doctor thinks the epidural injections in his spine might help or if he'll need to have back surgery. Sure am praying it's the former. But the bathroom will be nice when it's finished!

I am glad that you will have a great bathroom when it is done but concerned about your husband. I hope that he doesn't need surgery.

So he was the doing all the job of remodeling inspite of his condition? My husband has been busy doing things around the house, he just finished repainting our guest room even if his knees were slightly hurting.

I hope for your sake that he is able to finish the bathroom. Hopefully, you still have a place to use the bathroom while this one is under renovation! I also hope that your husband figures out his pain issues and solves them in the least expensive way possible. Unfortunately, health care bills will probably cost a lot more than that bathroom renovation!

Thankfully we do have a second bathroom! He has Medicare and a good BC/BS supplement, so hopefully the medical bill would be covered, but he dreads the recovery ordeal of back surgery. We're praying that spinal injections will help.

@1creekgirl I have heard that those spinal injections can often do wonders for back pain management. I hope everything works out for him!

I hope the shots do the trick. A bathroom remodel is a major project. If he has surgery it may be a while before the bathroom is finished.

He had his MRI on Friday, so we hope to get the results this week. We hope he can try the injections, but either way he'll try to finish the bath room before any surgery.

I hope he does not need surgery, he should not continue the remodeling if his back hurts, better to call a professional.

Hope your husband doesn't hurt himself more while doing that remodel. Good thing your son is coming to help him. You're like the third person I've heard of in the last few days with back problems and getting epidural injections in the spine. Hope those work for your husband and he doesn't need surgery

Some men can get very stubborn when they want to do something. I hope something can be done for the pain in his legs.

I hope the doctor finds the right option for your husband. My better half has the same problem but they find little to do for him. He's having therapy now but only has a few more sessions.

Is surgery or injections not an option for your husband? I hope the therapy will help him a lot.

It is a good thing he will be getting help on that project. Maybe he can just sit and give directions.
