Stupid things I heard from my friends about my pocket knife

I'm not sure if I will laugh or not. I do carry pocket knives for utility reason. But my friends are scared to death when they saw me use it (to cut stuff like barbecue). One time during an out of town barbecue, I unfolded a black folder to gut a catfish. The blade is only three inches long but my friends don't even want to touch it. One even claimed that it shoots blades!

It was weird, I mean did they saw a kitchen knife before? Did they saw how their mother use knives to chop vegetables? A kitchen knife is bigger than a pocket knife so there is nothing to fear (unless it is owned by a psycho).

@Mamerto32 yes..well said..the person who owns makes all the difference..nothing wrong in carrying one..if your friends know your clear intentions in carrying one and still think negatively, i think its their problem not yours

I would get some new friends. There are too many people like this, afraid of ordinary everyday things, and they've been made that way by the media and because they will believe anything they are told. Dump those "friends" and get some friends that can think for themselves.

I suddenly remembered that stupid switch blade law thanks mostly to media sensationalism. The irony is, we are Filipinos. Historically we are bladed people, but seeing my friends cower before a knife made me think twice if we really are.
