Delete or not delete ? Are you deleting your discussions ?

I hesitated a moment, and I finally clicked on «Delete» on one of my old discussions. It was a first time for me, and I was moved like a young virgin at the view... Sorry, I forgot a moment that this site was PG rated, correction : I was moved like a toddler discovering kindergarten. As soon as I had confirmed the deletion, I thought that it was stupid and clicked on «Cancel»... but it was too late.
The final question has nothing to do with the second question in the title, intended to identify those reading only the titles. There is an Albanese proverb telling «The one who hesitate will regret», do you agree with it, or are you never regretting anything ?
PS: Albanese proverbs are always very handy, nobody would ever control that they exist or not.

In the words of Edith Piaf, "Non, je ne regrete rien!". I do occasionally delete old discussions (though usually when I want to modify and repost it). I have sometimes thought to regret that I did so but what is done is done and there is little to be gained by regret, after all.
There is an equivalent English proverb: "He who hesitates is lost." It is not specified whether the hesitant one is truly lost (no longer exists) or whether he merely does not know where he is!

I hesitate often before taking a decision, but once it is taken, I have for rule to never regret the choice I made.
And you are wonderful, Owl, you found an authentic proverb that I should have used if I had known it instead of improving my Albanese.

I only move forward, and never look back. I do not delete my discussions. I suppose if I were to find myself totally in the wrong in one, I might, but I do not tend towards that type of introspection.I am not, at this time, deleting my discussions. I sometimes do hesitate about what I put up in the first place.

@topffer I had a good example to follow on reading. About the same time I read this discussion, I also read one by a user who deletes his responses if people do not interact with him. I do not keep score like that. I can think of very few reasons to take the time to delete anything I write.

@GardenGerty I have had a few responses and comments removed by some members, I never did it and would also not remove a response staying without comments. I also do not see a lot of reasons to do it, but I have noticed that some members were deleting on a regular basis all their discussions...

I don't think I'd delete a discussion. Any moneys I made would be lost.

@topffer ....I think it would depend on how many comments have been added and how long it up.

I actually deleted a bunch of very old ones . . . but it was when I was no longer here. Had I known I'd be back again someday, I wouldn't have done that! But oh well, c'est la vie.
Although it does depend on the situation, I do tend to hesitate as I over analyze and do what I can to make sure I do not have any regrets down the line. Even then though there is no guarantee there will be no regrets - we all have to live with our choices and consequences - live and learn!
Albanese proverbs might make for better fortunes in fortune cookies !

@topffer No. It makes no sense to have posts concerning Christmas 2016 cluttering up the site. That's an example of a topic that is only relevant for a day or two.

I haven't deleted any, so far. Is there a reason why we should?

@topffer Nope. But I've already thought of deleting because of the meager amount of comments once in a while.

Mmmm, when I have time, I will have to scroll through to see which one you had deleted and try to decipher your motivation . By the way,
- some toddlers LOVE (adore) kindergarten.
- Cautious people are often hesitant before doing anything, but when they are sure, they move in for the kill pronto. (My way of telling you, I don't regret once I was forced to do something.)

It was the discussion about my house and showing some pictures, for privacy/personal reasons, but, thinking twice at it, it should have stayed as well.
A toddler cannot love kindergarten the first time? My mother told me that I cried when I left her for my first school day.
I am like that : I can hesitate a lot before deciding what to do, and when my plan is made, I follow it.

@topffer I did scroll down a bit, then gave up (you have too many discussion from your years here. I am not complaining of course since they are all good reading stuff!), so thanks for helping me out with that pointer. (You could be right re: some toddlers who never attend kindergarten ever. I wouldn't know, can't remember that far .)
