Its Just The Name Not You

There have been a few, not many but Its still there and I cannot help it. When someone really uses me for a door mat or has done me wrong I remember their name. That is not the problem though. Its like this name, no matter who has it makes me not like them instantly BUT I will give them the benefit of doubt that they are not just like the other person that has the same name that did me wrong. So many, many years ago when my sister was drunk she renamed this one thang that was causing trouble she, my sister, looked at her and said " What are you looking at you old wh_re?" And that became her new name, well within the circle. And that my friends is how I overcame not liking people based on their first name. Have you ever renamed people based on their actions? I haven't renamed anyone but there are names that when I hear them I cringe! Either because I have watched kids with that name and they didn't behave well or someone I know/knew that I did not like with the name. No offense to anyone here but when I hear the name Tammy I cringe...can't help it. My husband's sister is the cause of that one-not a nice person at all.

The name Stacia makes me cringe (which sucks because it's so similar to my own name and my mom used to call me that as a nickname...I won't allow it anymore though.) Also because of my partner's sister. Complete loser who freeloaded off of us and caused lots of trouble. Just hearing the name (or thinking about her) makes me mad.

Harley looks happy. I do have some bad reactions to some names, but I cannot think of any that I have renamed. I mean I know I have, but literally they escape my mind.

I know a young girl named Harley who is bossy, a know it all, and flies off the handle quickly. However she is in counseling, and is being adopted and is changing her name.

Yes we do it all the time but not directly to the person, unless it is a nickname that is well known. We may make a joke of someone by using a name suitable for their behavior but no nothing mean. There is only a few names that would make me not like the name not the person attached to it..and those are any of my x's names lol

No, I am afraid I have not, but honestly, though I don't really like everyone no one has ever really double-crossed or back stabbed me enough for me to dislike a name. Maybe I am just incredibly naive.

Yes, I think that's a pretty common thing we do. I have neighbors we call "Beverly Hillbillies" due to the condition of their house and property. They are very inconsiderate neighbors too. Nothing against the TV show, always liked it. Guess people like to label others?

I haven't done it recently, but cringe at certain names because they remind of some I never cared for. That Harley is a sweetie!!!
