One way traffic soon to become two-way traffic

Mylotters, remember I've posted about hearing one-way traffic as a kind of "white noise" every night. When as of last month, there's plans to convert that one-way street I live on into a two-way street as we speak for early next year. There's also been road work in the center lane that's right in front of the street to the gym, which has been closed off right now. The plan is to bring more traffic into Downtown for more tourism, and to grow more business along the Riverfront area. My apartment building is one of the places that have gotten an official letter from the mayor of my lovely town, as my apartment manager had posted it on the bulletin board on the laundry room on the 4th floor. Soon, the wrong way posted signs would be gone. Already, there's an extra set of traffic lights connected to the telephone wires at the intersection. This two-way lane conversion would stretch from my street to Downtown, off the highway and onto another street. I'm not looking forward to hear two-way traffic after we say Happy New Year in almost months from here in 2018. Any road construction where you live, Mylotters? I'm glad I don't live near the blasting sounds of drills and hammering and smelling the tar everyday.

Well I've heard talk about it this spring. But at least no construction would take place near where I live. It would be near the gym. Maybe it would improve tourism next year.

@TiarasOceanView Nope. It's along the strip of road at the first intersection and toward Downtown. Thank goodness for that.

Oh goodness! So sorry you'll have to deal with that. There is always road work being done here. Especially in the summer. Its like they wait til its so hot and all the tourist are here before they decide to start

Decades ago we had road construction on our avenue, the first week, we had a hard time sleeping as there was no traffic at all. When they opened up the street again, we had to get used to the noise again so we could sleep.

Wow! At least it won't be near my apartment building. But the people who love near the gym would have to cope with it.

We seldom have much traffic. We live in a very rural area.

Yep. At least no road construction near my apartment complex. I wished I had them last year, when there was construction work done in the apartment last summer.
