true that both are interesting, but i prefer sherlock, because its simplicity, the mysteries in sherlock were simpler than those in Agatha's.but yet it more realistic.I mean, how many detectives could make conclusion just by sitting in his/her chair, like hercule poirot. true that sherlock made his conclusion from his lazy chair but he had to go investigating through the crime scenes, follow the suspects, went undercover, fought the bad guys. hey, how many time, poirot or miss marple fought with the bad guys? ^^

For me It's Sherlock Holmes. Not that I dont like the christies .I like them too especially the Poiret ones, but Sherlock is Sherlock.I ,ve read and reread all the 4 novels And 56 stories of this master sleuth. Here Dr. Doyle has not created a spy ,infact he's come up with a character who I think is peerless in the galaxy of all the fictional heroes ever created. The best part is that the man has a few negative shades too but they add to his overall persona, and they spruce up the enigma that he was ,These traits also make him appear more human than a superhero. The science of deduction which he pursues for his bread and butter was no doubt the most amazing and maost creative piece in the whole of literature. And not the least is the impeccable language that the master writer has so well utilized takes the writings to another plane.Never before or after ,a fictional spy and stories involving mysteries has given such accolades ,in fact they are considered an integral part of the classy English Literature. This fact speaks 4 itself man , and as HE himself would have said (which incidentally he never) "ELEMENTARY WATSON ELEMENTARY" THE VERDICT IS WITH SHERLOCK.

Agatha Christie i like....Christie has been called - by the Guinness Book of World Records, among others - the best-selling writer of books of all time, and the best-selling writer of any kind second to William Shakespeare. An estimated one billion copies of her novels have been sold in English, and another billion in 103 other languages [1]. As an example of her broad appeal, she is the all-time best-selling author in France, with over 40 million copies sold in French (as of 2003) versus 22 million for Emile Zola, the nearest contender.

Obviously, Sherlock Holmes, Dude.... Cos' Primarily, I'm not into Agatha Christie. But I guess I have read each 'n' every volume of Sherlock Holmes. Arthur Conan Doyle really rocks... I guess, he created a revolution in the vast field of suspense.

The 2 of them create great books. I like them both, but if I could only choose 1, its gonna be Sherlock Holmes. Btw, i think it's not fair to compare Sherlock and Agatha, it's not Apple with apple questions. Sherlock Holmes: The detective, not the author Agatha: The author.
