Getting To New Comments Can Be Difficult

I am not quite sure if we are allowed to make suggestions to improve the site in a post but I am going to try anyway. I find that when you have a post with more than say 30 comments, it becomes a real chore to respond to all of them. Only the latest comment stays at the top of the post, the rest fall to the bottom. It takes several tries to get down to where the comments are to respond to them. Would it be possible to have all comments that have not been liked or responded to remain at the top of the list? This would make it so much easier not to miss a comment and to just go through the ones that remain. If this is a no-no I am sorry and no doubt it will be my first post deleted. What say you @goaskalice

@Mylotbugs, is there a way to make this happen?

I would appreciate to have the comments listed in the order they were posted. I have many discussion with almost (or more) than 100 comments and it's hard to scroll all the way down to see if I missed someone.

It would be easier if unresponded to comments remained at the top. Of course it is no big deal to me because I would just ignore you anyway.

Me too but we are much more likely to miss a comment with the system the way it is.

What a good idea. I find that I am doing thro=ugh the same thing, going through all of the comments to find one that has not been answered by me.

@BelleStarr true, it does seem to stop the progress of a conversation ever now and again.

Yes it can and the going to the bottom is a pain in the next since it takes 3 or 4 tries.

I don't think they mind suggestions. However, there may be other factors at work but it seems a lot of people are agreeing with you, including me.

That is a great idea, and would make things so much easier and we would be certain that we had read and responded or liked all of the comments left for us to go over. I am often second-guessing myself.

It just takes so much time and effort to keep going back to the bottom to make sure there are no missed comments,

It seems like common sense to me. All new ones should stay at the top until we've responded to them.

I'm in agreement with you... several people who I follow and comment on their posts, regularly have had up to 100 comments on their posts...

I rarely get that high but even at 50 it is daunting and I get tired of having to scroll to the bottom.

I think the latest comment should be on top and the oldest one on the bottom. Would make it much easier to respond. It would also be easier to respond to replies if they were all shown instead of having to press the button to show all the replies. But as far as responding to all the comments, I think we are tempted to respond to all of them but we shouldn't do that unless we have something to add to the discussion, or we are answering a question posed in the comment. Responding with generic comments or just thanking people for comments does us no good.

I think when someone takes the time to comment I should at least acknowledge that. But that is just me.

@BelleStarr Yes, of course. That is a good thing to do. But it has to add to the discussion in some way.... It doesn't look good if we just give generic responses or thank yous in every reply we post on our posts' comments.

When I get over 30 I can't just go to the bottom in one try, it takes 3. It is just harder than it needs to be.

That would be nice or for it to be similar to how Facebook handles comments. I would also love am easier way to go through one persons discussions

I have had many with 30 or more and really did not find it difficult. Maybe I'm a faster scroller! I also make sure to respond to the comments on my own posts first thing while I still have energy!

I can get to the bottom of 30 or more in one scroll, it takes 3 attempts. That is what takes all the time.

makes perfect sense to me, hon. particularly those response threads that've somewhat gone awry 'n yer havin' to constantly open previous comments time 'fter time to find the original ya need to address.
