Numbers. We're talking numbers here, both @FourWalls and I, are talking spelled out numbers in song titles. We are at #5 in my Favorite Numbers Songs series, with a band making it's first appearance in one of my music countdowns: The White Stripes with "Seven Nation Army." Lot's of neat info about 2003's Grammy winning "Seven Nation Army:" guitarist/vocalist Jack White claims he was saving the song's guitar riff in case he was ever approached to do a James Bond theme. Realizing that this was unlikely, White turned said riff into "Seven Nation Army" (titled as such for demo purposes prior to any lyrics being written.) Ironically, in 2008, White teamed up with Alicia Keys for "Another Way to Die," the theme song from the Bond film Quantum of Solace. An international hit (including Top 10 in the UK, Germany, and Italy,) "Seven Nation Army" stalled at #76 on the Billboard Hot 100, but spent three weeks atop that magazine's Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song is wildly popular in European Football (Soccer) stadiums, and, in the NFL, at Baltimore Ravens games. It has been covered numerous times, notably by The Oak Ridge Boys, Living Colour, Audioslave, Kelly Clarkson, and Metallica. And by the way, that catchy bass riff in the song? It's actually one of Jack White's guitar's, run through a Whammy pedal. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I was going to say, I didnt think they had a bass player? Just him ans Meg? I like the white stripes and most of what Jack White does in general. This song got a little bit over played on the radio over the last like ten years though. But still a good one.

I agree, it is overplayed. But not "Stairway to Heaven" overplayed, at least.

It is a cool bass riff, except it's actually a guitar.

A great song, even if there is no actual bass in it. Hey Jack White... do you need a bass player? ;-)

Yeah, but you would have had to wear all of that ridiculous red and white clothing!
