Do you believe the five second rule ?

June 30, 2017 7:38am CST
We have all heard about the five second rule at one point in our childhood or even in our adult life. So is the five second rule true or just a hoax? The amount of bacteria likely to stick to your food when it falls is unlikely to cause sickness. The determining factor if whether we can still eat the food that fell is the surface that it landed on. We can still eat food when it falls on a dry surface(unless it's pizza, maybe i'll still eat it). However I’m sure we will not eat food the falls on the surface in a wet market. Well the answer it's a hoax.

It depends on where I'm at and what it is. If I'm at my house or like my moms or sisters and it's a chip or something, I will still eat it. If it's a cupcake or donut or something like that, it's in the trash. My 2 year old however will eat anything he drops. I try to get it if I can.

I won't eat anything that falls to the floor, no matter how long it was on the ground/floor

I don't eat anything that drops on the floor. I remember that shoes have walked on it and I think where those shoes have probably walked.

As far as I am concerned food is food and the floor is the floor. Even 1 second would be too long for me, wet or dry.
