I am not a fan of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Rush from Canada but “Red Barchetta” does rock. Even Geddy Lee’s vocals are not as irritating as usual. The track follows “Tom Sawyer” (a song I loathe) on the “Moving Pictures” album. “Red Barchetta” receives group writing credit and was inspired by the 1973 short story “A Nice Morning Drive” by Richard Foster that appeared in Road & Track Magazine. The song is about a futuristic society where cars are prohibited. That includes a red Barchetta sports car that the singer sneaks out for Sunday drives and gets involved in a race he wins. “Red Barchetta” is a Rush fan favorite at concerts.

I like that song, but then RUSH just happens to be my all time favorite band. I love Geddy Lee's voice. I belong to a RUSH group on Facebook and people debate all the time about what their favorite album is, and all of them are good, but if I have to pick my favorite, it is "A Farewell To Kings". You have heard of that album, haven't you?
