I was told that by my folks and I did not believe it.. Well their sense of humor kinda hurts...and I am not supposed to hurt...weird. Me thinks...no sense of humor should hurt ..because that wouldn't be sense of humor It would be sense of hurt... Anyway, I am glad I have been in right hostels, and with a bunch of equally nice girls, I am glad they were in my life because it let me believe that the world is not a bad place.. And I am glad I met you all myLotters.. who have I must say it honestly...excessive sense of humor... Love you all..very much...hugs.

Having a sense of humor is great - and laughter may not be the best medicine, but it does help.

I think it does work as a medicine...in a way. If we are looking at everything in humorous way, things that used to bog us down cease to trouble us as much, and that has a positive effect on our physiological well being, as well as outlook. By being positive, we can automatically take right decisions and even if we go wrong, we have sufficiently reinforced immune system to prop us up. So I am for more laughing and fun.

You seem like a very nice, kind person. I think you have a wonderful sense of humor. You're right, what some people use for humor is really just mean.

Yeah...we do need to differentiate between sense of humor and sense of hurt...that way may be they will start demarcating what does not go down with the society.

Actually you are quite witty! Sometimes family humor is "different" - they don't always understand.

@vandana7 I think it's quite possible to not have certain things in common with family . . . just keep the good stuff and the rest, well, I guess we can try to "humor" it as long as we can tolerate it.

Indeed you have no sense humor... except when you have some. I remember the first time I chatted with you. Thesids was there too, and we had some bursts of laughter that are still ringing in myLot Everybody has not the same sense of humor, and those who told that are probably as joyful as a caretaker.

Each person has their own sense of humor, I've seen people being friends turning into enemies because of a joke. But hey, the world is huge, there's always someone we can have a good time with. We all need people who show us and make us believe the world is not as bad as we think.

I think when it borders to ridicule ...it should be stopped! People should know where to stop talking...unless they want to lose a friend...and vitiate the atmosphere..

@sabtraversa ...Aw...our folks stop short of saying sorry.......lol. That gives them perverted pleasure to say "that was a joke"...and keep us waiting for that apology....they know we are waiting and they don't come up with it, so yes, hurting them back is the only way to drill sense in them.

@vandana7 The conversation was like this: - I saw them this morning. - Them who? - Deez nuts! - *heavy insults* - Come on, that was a joke. Sorry. - *more heavy insults* - *insults back*

I do not believe you have no sense of humor. We express our feelings differently, but this does not mean we do not have sense of humor.

I agree. I have no sense of humor when others ask me to adopt their child or them. If I wanted one, I would have had one, or adopt one. First they offer, then they call it a joke and say it was said as a joke. I ask them in which book or movie did you come across such kind of joke.

@LadyDuck .. Ironic isn't it, there are laws against physical disabilities. You can't tease a person without hand, or eye. But the world expects people to prove that internally there was nothing wrong with them and takes perverted pleasure in jumping with joy when the lady touches menopause...ah now I have hopes to shove my child on her, or take her monies for my pleasures..

@vandana7 I understand and you are right, it is like when we say we have no children because it was our choice and people joke saying we possibly could not have children. This is a stupid thing to say and anyway not at all true.

People who tell you that you have no sense of humour are just saying yours is different from theirs. Not everybody laughs at the same things.

I totally understand. Some people just aren't very sensitive and may not realize that what they call "jokes" can actually offend others.

I can understand that...not realize. It is "I don't care", or "I want to hurt because I am itching to have some fun at your expense" behavior that is annoying. I hurt them back of course.

He is a darling our tops and I donĀ“t have much have a sense of humour right away some days it gets to me as the day goes on. However I can be sensitive to some things all depends but I am working on it. I have a great sense of humour and I try not to hurt people the last thing I would want is that so I am careful.

@vandana7 Alas we hurt each other without realizing it. Being in that kind of Family I have learned a lot of things and to not be so sensitive in some cases. My other Famly never back down and one of my Aunties says every time she sees him she feels like hitting him which she never does but she feels like it.

I think we all are sensitive to some issues. Given that, whatever be our form of sense of humor, we are likely to hurt somebody. If I do that, I am quick to apologize, and avoid hurting the person the next time on the same issue. It is not as if the person does not have sense of humor. It is because his or her experiences on that subject are not pleasant and remind him or her of something painful. We can be human by showing our understanding. But there are those who do it knowingly. They don't apologize. Instead they use the cover "I was only joking". Then it gets annoying and the need to hurt them back arises.

@allknowing .. No..they are not in virtual world..some yes, not all. LOL ..thanks ..they are already dumped...this post is to let others who go through what I have been through know that there are people who understand how nasty that kind of joke sounds, and it does not qualify as joke and that they would be within their rights to hurt back, or do everything they can to be away from such folks. :) I do have a couple of childless aunts..they have cried their hearts out...I have fought back ...they have succumbed to the system. They did not choose to adopt because they were uneducated and did not have enough monies and one of them was married to a drunkard. We can't trouble people whom god has already given enough on their plates........that is pure sin.

@vandana7 Wait a minute. You do not have kids because you are not married. Am I right? This reminds me of an incident. A friend of mine had gone for an interview and the prospective asked how many kids she has. She said two and the guy says his secretary has none - the secretary was a spinster (lol)

You have one of those sneaky sense of humors, very smart and calculated in the best of ways. I was told I did not even have a personality in the National Guard. I kind of wanted to tell them because they was Army and close to half of the National Guard is Marines, at least in California when I served, was because they try to hard. Always trying to be better when there was no better, just doing what was right and they did not give me a reason to laugh. Sometimes, but very few and only by a select few and they both were Army and Marines.

@rebelann ..Oh they knew I am ok..they saw me, but they imagine that I will need THEM and THEM only, based on their limited experience with their grandparents..or what they saw in old age homes...lol. I told I have plans...have provided for me in old age home...but oh no..it is not same as living with own family. Desperate attempts to push themselves into my life...
