So, I mentioned yesterday I went to a bbq and there were many people there. I would say 30 or more, anyway, part of the festivities involved a pie judging contest. Anyway, one of the offerings and it may have been the winner was a vinegar pie. I saw the recipe a couple of times in an old fashioned cookbook, and I looked it up online when I got home. I think I am gonna make this..It doesn't look too hard, and the ingredients are few. Have you heard of or had vinegar pie..or what was the most unusual pie you have heard of?

It seemed like there were several ways to make it some involving merangue and some not.

@snowy22315 For what I read in the book, the vinegar was used because in those times it was difficult to fine more expensive ingredients like lemon or apple cider.

This is my first time to hear of vinegar pie. I wonder how it tastes.

Nope I've never heard of vinegar pie. I'll goggle the recipe and see what it entails

That's the most unusual pie I've ever heard of! Can't imagine how it tastes and not sure if I'm that keen to try

It sounds like it would make your mouth pucker, but it was quite good!
