Well, I wasn't going to garden this year, but I broke down and bought a tomato plant..it is kind of small though I didn't want it out in the heavy rains, so I might actually plant it tomorrow..If I put it in a semi sheltered area it should be OK. Have you planted anything this year?

I think it is not advisable to plant something in the garden. We were been experiencing monsoon rain for a month now. I wanted to plant cherry tomatoes.

Yeah, it was big time raining last night here. I am not sure but it might happen here today in the afternoon. I am gonna hold off planting this until the worst of the rain is past.

Tomatoes, the favorite of most gardeners! I don't have a tomato plant this year, the weather was too cool and wet up until mid- to late June, then it seemed too late to put in tomatoes. Oh well. I'm sure my neighbor will be overwhelmed with tomatoes from her container garden, so maybe she'll share with me. My asparagus sprouted several stalks, but they each came up at a separate time. I cut one or two of them off and munched them right there on the spot. The rest I allowed to grow. I really like looking at their delicate fronds. Today I had a small handfull of blueberries from a bush I planted a couple of years ago. Last year it yielded only three or four berries, so it's coming along. There are quite a few berries still to turn blue on it and I'm licking my chops in anticipation. As for planting, I planted flowers and herbs this year, with an emphasis on herbs (oregano and sage), and flowers that will attract hummingbirds. Otherwise, I planted geraniums, which I do every year, and one little pansy. Mostly I need to get plants cut back from the walls so that the painter who is supposed (fingers crossed) to come in August to paint the house and fence will have room to work. Also, my ferns and my lemon balm are just gone crazy and the lemon balm, at least, needs to be severely pruned.

It sounds like you have your hands full with what you have. I went to someone's homestead on the 4th and he is growing hops..I never knew you could grow them for personal use. I never heard of anyone growing them.

Yes, I like gardening and growing produce. I have tomato plants, annuals, plum trees, azaleas, cucumbers, green beans and hydrangeas. Enjoy it when they come up each year. What's funny is I don't have a green thumb, just plant and water Hope your tomato plants grow a successful crop
