Getting ready for some busy days ahead

I'm so tired and ready for some sleep, but I wanted to check in. The 4th was a good day. My niece couldn't make it over here - she was just too tired from work and not feeling well - so we took to the phone for about 5 hours! I was watching the fireworks as we talked and it's amazing to me that we didn't run out of conversation. We finally had to hang up when my phone was dying!
So, tomorrow I'm off to play with my kitten at the shelter again and see how he's doing. Friday night, my niece needs some help with a Facebook game, so I'm going over there to see if we can figure it out together. I use Windows and she uses an ipad, so I'm confused about what she's seeing and she's confused about what I'm seeing. So I'm just going to pack up my laptop and get a ride over there, see if I can be of help and then play with her cats!
Monday, I have a visit from the woman from church. I love her visits. She and I have a lot in common and she makes extra time in case I need someone to talk with. It was truly wonderful when she told me that she makes sure to build time into her visits so it's not just hi and goodbye.
I have my colonoscopy scheduled for next week. I'm really nervous because I'm so overdue. But I hadn't had any rides in the past, so it was impossible. Now my niece has taken the day out of work. When I'm done, we're going to head out for coffee and some food and hopefully I'll be able to get my kitten from the shelter later that day, too, so my niece said she would drive me there to get him and come home with me to get everything set up for him and she'll stay and play for a while. Can't ask for any more than that!
If you've ever doubted that prayers get answered, I'm here to tell you that they do. A year ago, my niece and I were barely speaking, and now we're becoming inseparable again. Sure feels like a miracle to me!
Hope you're all doing well!
Claudia

I love miracles! That's great you're so connected with your niece and she's going to help you next week when you have your colonoscopy and get your kitten. That's exciting. You broke the record for long phone calls. My longest is only a couple hours.

My very first phone conversation with Britt, back before we'd even met in person, was 7 hours! And back then, that meant a very big phone bill! He sent me a check to pay for it, even though he really didn't have to. I was shocked when I got off the phone with my niece and saw how long we'd been talking! It's like we're really making up for all the lost time!

Sorry to hear you guys once stopped talking. But glad youre back to talking, hanging out and helping one another. My cousins and I stopped talking for awhile. But talk again now. And even took one cousins kids out before they moved, and still take out and spend time with my other cousins kids and her.
Hope you have a great week. And that you can get your kitten!
