We all know veggie that are store bought , contain chemical spray to prevent pests from chewing up the veggies. Hence, most of us would soak veggies in a bowl or basin of water for a few hours . This is to allow the chemical to be diluted in the water. Some people add in vinegar or salt into the water to remove the chemical from the veggies. Rinse and change the water at least twice or thrice before cooking. How many times do you change the water? How long do you soak your veggies? Do you add anything into the water? My mom does this routine, soak the veggies in water for 20-30min to loosen the soil if present and then wash 3 times in salty water, finally rinsing with normal water

If we are going to cook the veggies, we need to wash it and then, soak them in the water.

I don't soak my veggies. If I did I wouldn't add anything to the water. To be honest, I don't really our water that much!
