In India, we have a tradition of applying henna on auspicious occasions. They are an integral part of our marriages and many other events. Henna paste is usually applied on the skin using a plastic cone, a paint brush or a stick. Beautiful designs are made. It's like an art, some people master it. Do you apply henna in your hands? Do you like it? P.S - Pic from google:)

That is the best, as natural henna has many medicinal benefits too. These ready made cones are just for the make up purpose, natural henna is what it should be :)

@shaynas The plant has barely any leaves As soon as leaves come up, however little they may be, people take them all off. That's a very big problem :(

I do not apply Henna, however, my wife loves? to apply Henna on special occasions such as marriages and some festivals. Now a days professional people are available to apply Henna in our area. They charge something like Rs.50-100 per hand.

@shaynas Yeah, since childhood girls get fascinated with henna and they enjoy applying it since childhood and when they grow older the fascination increases and henna is used as one of the accessories to look good and attractive.

@dpk262006 I feel when i was growing up, henna was more in practice. I remember my folks applying it for smallest of reasons. we used to too though it was not allowed in schools Now with busy lives, even that is decreasing. I feel it's years since i applied last. Though i like it.

Indian women love to apply henna. Well...most of them. These days there are many professionals. The charges depend on what design you chose

That one in the picture is so beautiful. So, for how many days does it stay in one's body, considering that you have to take a bath everyday?

The dark color remains just for a couple of days and then it starts fading slowly. It takes around 10-12 days to go completely.

@shaynas Yes, I've seen that. Many Turks live in European countries. They also use henna when they marry. I haven't tried it because I'm no Turk.
