Hair yesterday - gone today

When I was a working woman I looked forward to my hair appointments. Of course back then I was still getting my hair colored and it was far easier to get it all done at a salon. Once we quit working and moved south my husband said he would color my hair....and yes, we're still married 17 years later. It was a lot cheaper paying $8 or $10 bucks for hair color than to have it done at the salon. So my visits to the beauty salon became hair cuts only. Now, I still pay for my hair cuts but I've given up the hair coloring. Yes, I went cold turkey and decided to let the grey shine through! I do look forward to hair cuts. Since I keep my hair short it gets a little ratty looking around day 23 or so! Yesterday's hair is now on the floor at the little shop in town. To make life easy all around, my husband gets his hair cut there also. He goes first and then sits in the car waiting for me. He says the girl gives a much better haircut than the barber in town....plus he doesn't come home smelling like a cigarette. Yes, they still smoke at a the barber shop. Since the local law hangs out there I guess it's not breaking a law LOL! Now we are all beautiful and ready to go outside and get frizzy in the humidity! Hope everyone is having a nice day! I cut my own hair and hubs, I am really cheap lol Not really but I don't trust hairdressers, they never do what I tell them, they do what they want.

@AbbyGreenhill Somehow they always consider my long hair a challenge and they want it to be short!!

@BelleStarr Since they charge more for long hair (most anyway) you would assume that they want you to keep it long!

After 69 years of going to them I guess I know how to make them do what I ask! I have never had one do it their way - guess I was lucky.

My husband colors my hair too. It is that Natural Instincts that washes out in 24 washes. It is much cheaper than going to the hair salon. I have a particular color I like that hides the grey. I am not ready to go all grey yet!

I have been gray since my early 20's so I started coloring then. I wash my hair every day so 24 washes woldn't have worked for me. I used permanent dye with my stubborn grey.

Contrary to you , I dislike with a big D to have a hair cut. But also like you, I decided last year to not color my hair anymore, but I am not gray, but totally white now.

I look forward to my hair appointments and getting my hair cut and colored also. I am due for mine on the 20th of this month and i'm looking forward to it. I'm sure as i get older i won't want to do it anymore either. It always feels good after getting your hair cut.

As much as I'm in the pool I never get my head wet - if I get water in my ear I get a super bad infection - I avoid that at all costs.
