Emergency Hamburg, Germany

The mess in Hamburg is increasing steadily. Protesters and the German police are serious opposed one to the other. I am so shocked: fire, flags, slogans, police troops, protesters shouting and .....great mess! The Facebook members declared that the Emergency Hamburg vid isn't on German TV. There are so many raw vids on Facebook. I mean that comparatively to the previous anti-globalists appearances this protest is bigger. It is said on Facebook comments that this is the end of the demo liberal world. These vids are broadcasting directly the event G-20 summit reflections and they differ than the rest ordinary media acceptance of it. The police hardly succeeds to oppose to the protesters crowds and to stop their destroying actions. So much noise in Hamburg now! Where are you going, Europe? Where are you going, World?

It's a good rhetoric question. Our world has no direction now as I see.

Similar mess in Venezuela although there are any other reasons there.

What's going on in Hamburg is shown and discussed extensively on German TV. Facebook seems to be full of nonsense. Bad as it is, this will not be the end of the liberal world.

@WriterAI I find it totally absurd to inform oneself of such goings-on on facebook. Every idiot can upload a video and tell the world that they know what's what because they were there. As if that were an argument. About 1.500 hooded and masked so-called 'autonomous' people have come to Hamburg from all over Europe. They aren't the least bit interested in politics but only in street fights and destruction. A whole quarter of the city has been destroyed. Shop windows have been broken and the goods stolen. Cars have been smashed and set on fire. It looks like a war zone. You can hear about this on the radio every hour and watch it on TV news. The police have used water cannons and pepper spray. 200 policemen have been injured. How many hooligans have been injured is unknown because they hide in the crowd or disappear. Tell me, please, why that should be the end of democracy.

But on Facebook there are also different TVs vids too. All seems as if there are shock and horror there. But if the official German TV is the most proper source we outside should accept it.

I suppose you are too young to remember the protests of the end of the 1960's/beginning of the 70's in Western Europe when the cobblestones were flying low on the barricades. Compared to that I find these youngsters and the police very correct.

I saw the water cannons, but they do not seem to be doing much good with this protest in Germany.

Oh, friend! You are right. But mind that the raw truth now it seems is on Facebook vids. Anyway noisy world that appeals that it should be changed and renewed.

What are they protesting? Here in the US, the anti-free speech folks (and other groups) often get out of hand, but it's difficult to tell who are actual protesters, and who just uses protests as an opportunity to steal sneakers and burn stuff.

They declare themselves as anti-capitalist minded group. They are anti-global groups too. I don't know other details.
