Overdid It Yesterday

Silly me! I did it again. Yesterday I overdid the gardening work. I stayed way too long as I was having fun. Did not see the time flying. But when I started to feel quite weak, I decided to come in. Was I surprised by the clock, it had been over 2 hours. I am not supposed to do this. I was taking advantage of feeling so good as it doesn't happen that often. Now, I am paying the price, I had a very bad night and I can see that I will have to nap shortly. Do you overdo it too sometimes?

I am sorry this happens to you Marlina..I know the feeling well. It is very frustrating as it cuts into anything we want to do. What were you doing gardening?

I will sometimes overdo it. I have those days when I do need a nap, as my life is just crazy busy.

@marlina Not as often as I would like. But there are times when I am able to have a power nap on the couch.

With 3 little children, can you have a nap?

I overdo it everyday. Have to push myself through the day. Then I get home and wonder why I have no energy for my own tasks that need to be done. You rest lady and feel better.

@ElusiveButterfly, When I was younger I had so much energy, I was like the "Energizer" bunny in the commercial. Now, it is a totally different story.

My Mom was not like this at all, she knew how to pace herself. I just wish I could be like her.

I have a bad habit of over doing things at times. It seems like I always end up paying for it. How did your muscles feel the next day?

I have a rule about not over-working. I don't have to do things and the thing I like to do I won't hurt me. Hope you feel better today.

I like gardening but I over extended my time there and that was a "no no" for me. I just forgot about it.

@marlina That's one reason we don't have flower gardens. I don't want to spend two hours working on them and that's why we have a small veggie garden....not a lot of work/time involved.

I don't feel that happens to me much, but my body seems to think it does here and there along the way. With me, though, I never know ahead of time how much or how little I should do. I think a lot of factors come into play when I can't sleep well and some of them can't be helped. Maybe if you happen to feel good enough to hang out in the garden again you should set a timer of some type so you won't overdo it again.

I hope you were able to get your energy back. I do it too. I take advantage of feeling good, my knees working without pain, is a blessing, and usually short lived.

I'm sorry to hear that Marlina, I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight. Fortunately I'm pretty healthy, so tiredness is the only result of me overdoing things.

Oh yes! I often overdo it because I dont have time, outside work these days means " if the dun is shining hurry up because rain is coming!" I hope you feel better after the nap.
