Advertising. Like it or not, it appears around and threaded through what you read here on myLot. It helps pay the few ยข we get for spending our time here commenting on, responding to or liking what others write. They could at least get the grammar right, though, as the superlative example above shows.

This is common here pgn. No there is no excuse for it, but it is very common and accepted even. (over here)

@pgntwo I cringe everyday, but what can I do, I am surrounded with it. Hence the lottery ticket. And no only got one number.

Proper grammar? You're kidding, right? I don't think proper grammar occurs to a lot of people. Somehow they think in terms of "its a mistake, I'm human deal with it" instead of trying to do a better job.

You have a point. Ignorance is perhaps the issue.

I have been seeing commercial from a service provider here. And I know that it will certainly help a site like this.

This is a combination of the Germanic and Romanic comparison.

It's mostly correct, except for the "most" - funniest is already the superlative form of funny. The funny thing is, the more you think of it, the funnier it gets ;)

I just shake my head. Even Huffington Post "news feeds" are rife with errors.

I wonder is it ever likely that one can become desensitised to such errors...?

@pgntwo I hope not, but if one winces too loudly one can appear a tad judgey - but that's fine.
