Deleting posts without any valid reason ..

Today morning i had a very strange experience .. A discussion was started by a member on patriotism and whether we are ready to die for our country ? Some of us had our own views , where we did not agree with this member and her opinion that all Patriots should be ready to lay down their life for their country if not they were not patriots. The member has now deleted all the posts of those members including mine, who did not agree with her.. My question - how can anyone be so immature and expect everyone to agree with their views on a discussion site ? If that is the case , we need not discuss on any issue here but agree with everything everyone says . I wish members are not given the right to delete other members posts and if needed it should be done only by the admin .. Please share your views on this

We cannot delete posts written by other members, we can delete comments left on posts we have written. I think this could not be allowed, if the comments are offensive the Administrator would be the only one authorized to delete comments.

I agree. When I experience something like this, I do not respond or comment anymore to the member having done it.

@topffer I do the same, it is rude to delete a comment only because you do not agree.

She can delete your comments, not your discussions - only admin or yourself can do that.

I agree but my posts and comments are personal and if someone is not happy with it they can post their own views or complain to the admin .

I think that this is rude, to say the least. And I also agree that we should be able to report to the administration, but not to delete anwsers we donĀ“t like.

Where did you get the idea from that we can delete other members' posts? That's not possible. You can delete only your own posts.

@kiran8 You mean that he has deleted your response maybe ? The starter can delete any response or comment. Since this feature exists myLot is no more a discussion site with people like this one. I experienced this for the first time 2 years ago. When it happens I do not respond or comment anymore to the member who did it.

@Prshnth it could be that the response went against the rules or the discussion itself was so..

Oh, how immature indeed of that person. If she/he didn't like the opinion of the commentator then she should just leave it uncommented by her.

Some persons on here don't fully understand the meaning of the word "discussion." That's what this site encourages. Various subjects can be discussed and those who are discussing the subject RARELY agree on what is being discussed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

LOL . That is interesting to hear that the writer only likes oneway whether it is true or wrong. It definitely ends in confusion and problems.

Its their post. They have the right to delete it, or any comments off it they don't like. Doesnt mean all us reading have to like it. But you do have to accept it and move on.

Wow how rude!! People are entitled to their own opinions. If u can't stand people's opinions don't choose a topic where people are more likely to be opinionated.

Absolutely , if you can't handle criticism you might as well not start any discussion because others have their own take on the subject
