I've been cleaning and packing and sorting and working in the house all morning and I am more than ready for a break. I am still trying to get all of the stuff that was left in this house organized and out of here. I can not believe the mountain of things that I am having to go through. I am finding some valuable things mixed in with just plain junk. It would be a whole lot easier to just put everything in the dumpster but I really need to save some of these things for my girls. There is jewelry, photos and other things that I know they would like in memory of their grandmother and great grandmother. Eventually it will all get straightened out. Right now I just want to relax and have a nice hot cup of coffee for a few minutes. Plus, I'd like to connect with some people that I have been missing.

What a cute picture you put on your post I remember when we had to clean out my moms house when she was no longer able to live alone and it was a nightmare of sorting, packing and deciding what to discard. It all gets done eventually.

Your mention of jewelry stopped me. I'd love to dig through old gems like that.

I usually do but this time I am trying to match people with the jewelry. She had definite ideas of what she wanted to go to whom. I am having a problem identifying what pieces are what.

@sallypup it isn't easy for sure. I am almost tempted to let them choose the piece of jewelry they want.

I do need help but can't really afford it. I do take breaks but I am so ready for this to be done.

I did enjoy the coffee - it was good to the last drop. It is not always easy trying to decide what to keep and what not to keep.

Cleaning old houses is a real pain, I know. Try to relax time by time and take your time.

I am trying. It is a pain but the house is so worth it, or it will be once it is finished.

On Tuesday of this week I was looking for something and came across things I did not know I had and thought I want to go through and throw more but then thought I will keep these things. I never know when they will come in handy.

It happens that way sometimes. I find I often need something after I have gotten rid of it.

@HazySue Susan, yes it does happen but still did not find what I really needed and have to get a replacement.

Connection established: I hope that you are savoring your cup of coffee. Is there a sweet to go with it. It might give you the energy to go back to the job.

You certainly deserved a nice break after all that. It's amazing what we accumulate over the years.

It is amazing. Not only is it my mothers stuff but her friends that got all mixed in together. There is no one in her friends family left or I would have them here helping.
