I don't get as to why people like to eat a hot meal during the middle of a hot sweltering summer day. They come in complaining that it's really terrible outside. It's humid, it's hot, it's muggy, it's hell like weather. Then the first thing they do is put their meal in the microwave and nuke the heck out of it! It comes out of the microwave steaming hot with the heat visible around it like a mirage in the desert. And if that wasn't hot enough, they add on some really hot mouth blistering and tongue annihilating chili or salsa with some jalapenos or peppercinis on the side. I'm not that type of person. Why would I want to torture myself by making my body temperature hotter? For me, cold meals are easier for me to eat than a hot meal on a summer day. I'd rather have me a cold sandwich with some cold lettuce in it. MMM turkey is a good light summer meal favorite of mine. Or perhaps just a cold salad of some sort, pasta or tuna. Well, that's the way I see it. Photograph- Taken and Owned by me, Plethos

On a hot day I prefer to drink cool liquids or eat fruits like watermelon or papaya.

@1creekgirl - i have nothing against hot peppers or chili, but for me thats more of a winter thing or a nachos with cheese with some jalapenos sprinkled on top, by the handfuls type of thing.

We warm food only when the temperature is really down. :) Generally, we don't like hot beverages both dad and me wait up for it to cool down some before starting to sip. We are rice eaters, so rice is almost always steaming hot, and that with cold food, makes it the right temperature to get into our mouth. Then in the nights, we make chapatis and keep in hot box. Hot chapati with cold vegetable has the same effect. Only in winters, do I warm food.

I definitely see your point. I think for me, if I'm craving something that needs to be warmed up, I'll just deal with it and drink something cold with it lol. However, that's the microwave... not heating the house up with the oven if the a/c isn't in.

@Plethos Right. We'll use it once in a while once the a/c is in, but before then? Nope. It gets pretty got in here during the summer without the a/c. Does it cool down much for you in fall/winter?

using the oven while its summer or hot in the house is not a good combination. ive had the urge to bake an upside down pineapple cake but i dont want the house to get hot.

I also prefer cold meals in summer, I like mixed salads, tuna and mayo, deviled eggs, shrimps and avocados, nothing hot. You should know that people living in very hot places eat spices because spices lower the body temperature.
