Gimme A Sammich Instead

I don't get as to why people like to eat a hot meal during the middle of a hot sweltering summer day. They come in complaining that it's really terrible outside. It's humid, it's hot, it's muggy, it's hell like weather.
Then the first thing they do is put their meal in the microwave and nuke the heck out of it! It comes out of the microwave steaming hot with the heat visible around it like a mirage in the desert. And if that wasn't hot enough, they add on some really hot mouth blistering and tongue annihilating chili or salsa with some jalapenos or peppercinis on the side.
I'm not that type of person. Why would I want to torture myself by making my body temperature hotter? For me, cold meals are easier for me to eat than a hot meal on a summer day. I'd rather have me a cold sandwich with some cold lettuce in it. MMM turkey is a good light summer meal favorite of mine. Or perhaps just a cold salad of some sort, pasta or tuna.
Well, that's the way I see it.

It makes sense, but I would miss a hot meal after a few days!

@Plethos I like my hot foods extra hot and my cold foods really cold. And I'm one of those who adds hot sauce or peppers whenever possible!

@1creekgirl - i have nothing against hot peppers or chili, but for me thats more of a winter thing or a nachos with cheese with some jalapenos sprinkled on top, by the handfuls type of thing.

I wish I did not have to cook at all. I am burned out, I can live on cold foods too.

We warm food only when the temperature is really down. :) Generally, we don't like hot beverages both dad and me wait up for it to cool down some before starting to sip. We are rice eaters, so rice is almost always steaming hot, and that with cold food, makes it the right temperature to get into our mouth. Then in the nights, we make chapatis and keep in hot box. Hot chapati with cold vegetable has the same effect. Only in winters, do I warm food.

I definitely see your point. I think for me, if I'm craving something that needs to be warmed up, I'll just deal with it and drink something cold with it lol. However, that's the microwave... not heating the house up with the oven if the a/c isn't in.

@infatuatedbby - nope on the rewards thing. The tin plates are a recent thing ffrom the past year. I like the 2 for $20 menu.

I agree with you. I had tuna sandwich tonight and that's a cool dinner on a warm evening.

I don't see why people think microwaving is cooking

I know that a cup of tea on a hot day can have the effect of cooling the body down - maybe hot food does the same for some people?!
