God doesn't use a mobile phone

We’re in the city of Negrepelisse and visited the ancient church there. I’ll need to research more about it but what I did like was a sign on the inside of the door. There was a symbol of a mobile phone with a line through it. Nothing new about that but the wording was a little different.
The translation was more or less ‘it is possible that in entering this church you may hear the call of God. On the contrary, it is less possible that he will contact you by phone’. And, at the bottom of the notice, ‘thank you for turning off your mobile phone’
The photo is Vince’s and shows the stained glass window above the altar.

Beautiful stained glass. The turn off phone message is funny.

When you see a sign mobile with line on it. That means DND, at least for technical guy whose most of work happens on call --
1 Technical Interview on Call - Known as telephonic Round
2 Handover
3 Since we got whatsapp -- Companies have made it official way of communicating. We have to update the status on whatsapp.
4 Any help to your team mate.
So I am wondering - Since he is on DND how he is going to call you He is busy helping me with my career So don't disturb him

Beautiful photo! I wish everyone would realize that phones give them nothing but distraction from the things that are most important.

Wow, what a striking picture.
Ever since they came out with cell phones I've become dependent on keeping one with me especially when I'm driving around.
I remember those days long before cell phones being used. I had one instance when my car stalled on the highway and there was nothing close by so I had to walk miles in the heat to get to a store. Thats the kind of situation I'd need a cell phone for.

Love it Judy.
The call of God.
It can be annoying to hear phones going off inside a Church or anywhere else similar.
Lovely photo by the way.

@JudyEv
That is really true but I would really switch it off as a sign of respect when inside there.

People still try to use mobile phone and in a crude way near places of worship.

@JudyEv At the very least, one can carry a mobile phone and keep in silent mode, as I do.
However, it is irritating in a temple or any other place of worship that people's mobile phones ring with some latest Bollywood tunes, or other music.

That is awful isn't it? I wrote about attending a medieval festival in Fougeres and most of the 'extra' characters in the little melodrama being acted out in the palace courtyard were carrying their mobiles - and wearing sunglasses!

That's a great sign, with a great message! Sadly, when I am in church I can always look around and see people on their smartphones during the church service. I'm pretty sure they are not texting God or commenting on any of his Facebook statuses! They need to put their phones away and pay attention to the sermon!

@JudyEv For people who are used to having their phones glued to their hands 24/7, one hour would seem like an eternity! What if they miss something important during that hour that they are at church? haha

@moffittjc It's crazy isn't it? And once people sailed - sailed, not flew - from Australia to England and no-one expected to hear from them for months.
