Favorite Mission Songs #5 - "Severina"

Rather than going with a theme for this particular music series, I am celebrating my favorite band, The Mission (known as The Mission UK in the United States.) We are at the midway point, with #5 being "Severina." From their 1987 debut album, God's Own Medicine, "Severina" is a pretty song, made even prettier by the presence of All About Eve vocalist Julieanne Regan. It's also a song that, on the God's Own Medicine Live album, vocalist/guitarist Wayne Hussey declared was a "what the hell were we thinking?" song. (Don't know if it's difficult to play live or if he just hates playing it. It sounds just fine on the live album.) "Severina" was a minor hit for the band, reaching #25 in the UK, and #21 in Ireland. It still sounds great 30 years later, and remains a fan favorite to this day. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I have that around here somewhere on a compilation disc. I love just about anything that Wayne Hussey was involved with.

I love Wayne. I've tried to meet him twice, but couldn't get past all the girls!

I think this is one of the best examples of what you say about The Mission being "an arena rock band trapped in a goth band's body."

Another one that I can't say I am that keen on. Being rather hit and miss with the Mission, I fear
