Happy Saturday

Although my earnings were quite low it is nice to get the few extra bucks this month. I can buy a few things that I really need. Not having a pay check every week sure sucks. I've been working at the same job for 30 years so there was always that pay check each week. I sure do miss that. If I could I would be back at work but the doctor won't give me the clear for at least 12 weeks. I've worked since I was old enough to work so it's hard to have to do without but nobody knows when things will change. They do change quickly. I never imagined I would be going through what I am right now. I only work for a small company with 5 employees. In the last five years one woman who was there for a long time had a brain aneurysm and even though she survived was never able to work again. She has no short term memory. Another guy I work with had cancer of the blood but he is in remission now and back and to work and now there is me. You just never know when unexpected health issues will occur. Anyway just babbling lol a dark, cool and damp day here but it's payday!! enjoy your Saturday.

It must be hard for you, especially since you've worked for such a long time. It's hard to lose that stability and pay every week. But sometimes we do need time off to take care of ourselves.

It must be difficult to have to go through all this and not getting a paycheck on tops of everything else.

I bought private short and long term disability insurance back when I was in my 20s precisely for what you are saying. . . you just never know. Teachers in my state are not eligible for state disability so if something were to happen to me, I'd be totally screwed. Now I'm covered.

@Happy2BeMe It is worth looking into. It is like $20 out of your check a week or less but will save you if anything else Darwin forbid happens with your heart or anything else.

Well, at least you earned enough. Due to everything I went thru I was not real active last month, and so far have not been that active this month either. Need to work more on getting more done, but lately either been going to Doctors, dealing with Home Health still and trying to concentrate on finding more ways to make some instant money from selling something, which is a lot of times offline.

What do they do if there is only 5 people there when someone is out? Do they hire someone else or what Laurel? Temporary? You must be very skilled at what you do after being there for so many years. I hope you can get back to it sooner than later. I know it is frustrating. Are you getting some kind of sick pay or whatever benefits?

The boss's son is filling in for me while I am away. I do get sick benefits but they are only 50% of what my pay was and they haven't started yet. They should anytime soon though.

You are right, we never know when unexpected health issues will occur, for some reason we always think that this only happens to others.

Happy Saturday @Happy2BeMe . Last year taught me very well that a person never knows what can happen with ones health, when my Mom got so terribly sick. I hope you're getting stronger each day and that you will be back to earning a pay check again. Take care.

I believe that the greatest gift you can give your family and the world is a healthy you. Glad your progressing along and I know you will be working again soon. The inspirational quote was by Joyce Meyer. Found it online just for you! Best Wishes Lauren!

I am sure it must be so hard not being able to work right now-but it's for the best as you know. Your body needs to fully heal first. Life changes in an instant, it's insane. =( I never thought we would be moving right now either, happened so fast.
