Lucky, Indeed!!!

And just when I thought that I wouldn't make it, I got to know a thing or two of what it meant to live in the now of the moment. I came back to my hostel and found that the WiFi's been fixed. It was so nice of the hostel warden to look up at the matter at this time of day. He really worked hard and I need to reward him a bit, I guess Though, I know he would hardly accept anything I tried to give him a set of matryoshka dolls that I had purchased from the local market, but he wouldn't accept it. He said he had many sets of these at home. He probably gauged that I had bought them as a souvenir. Also when I gave him something that was not Russian in origin, he simply said that he didn't do anything to deserve any rewards from me. Aww, it was so nice of that Russian gentleman. I consider myself lucky to have met him.

Great service, and very professional warden! You're giving him money anyway, that was his job, but I understand why you wanted to reward him.

You are indeed lucky to have someone like him to fix the Wifi for you. And such a humble person to refuse that he did anything special. But I think your kind words already made him happy.

that, or ... he's just 'doing his job,' and doesn't want to get in the habit of "expecting extra things in return for favors-of-kindness." And I think The Bible says something about 'unreturned favors giving you credit for treasure in Heaven.' Though it might be nice to remind your warden of the 'treasures in heaven' his good deeds are earning him
