Favorite 80's Metal Songs #8 - "Screaming in the Night"

As I celebrate electronic music over in another series, I thought I would also give loud guitars their due, and what better way than with a countdown of my Favorite 80's Metal Songs? We are at #8, so let's bang our heads to "Screaming in the Night" by Krokus. While Swiss band Krokus might consider themselves more of a hard rock group, they certainly made a splash in the American metal scene with their 1983 album, Headhunter, particularly with the "ballad," "Screaming in the Night" (in an interview with Classic Rock Revisited, vocalist Marc Storace claims that "Even pop bands like ' Screaming in the Night.'") Ok, so it doesn't rock as hard as, say, Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills," but "Screaming in the Night" does offer up some headbanging opportunities. I saw Krokus, at Red Rocks, in the middle of a bill with then-up and coming Twisted Sister and southern rock legends Blackfoot. I have to say that Krokus stole the show, and their performance of "Screaming in the Night" was a big reason (and Twisted Sister and Blackfoot didn't exactly suck that night.) The song is Krokus' biggest hit, reaching #21 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and naturally, the band still plays it in concert. As for the attached video, it might just be the funniest thing you see all day. (Info verified by Wikipedia)
"Screaming in the Night" was the band's biggest hit to date, and is still played on classic rock radio stations. It is featured on the 1983 album Headhunter.

They aren't well known outside of the metal scene.

Who says you cannot celebrate two things at once. I remember this band. Krokus makes people Kroke. How do you spell kroke. Oh well, spell check says wrong internet says right. So the music must be right. Cool flash back brother.

I was surprised that they are still together, honestly.
