This post photo describes my problem... and frustration...  The colleague  I'm working with, is not listening to me.  Well ... She is listening... but is not getting the information or understanding, what I want her to ... I think  I've communicated something to her...  but shortly afterwards,  she does something, that clearly demonstrates she didn't hear or understand what I said ...  She has lived and worked in the uk for 8 years in this line of work.., so it's  not like I'm using words she doesn't  understand...   she just does not listern.., she's  like one of the people mentioned in the quotes .., she is listening with the intent to reply... not to understand... Do you know or work with someone like that ?    it's  very frustrating...

I have a relative that is like that. Just listens enough to come back with a reply and I hate talking to him for just that reason.

lol I know this is not funny but it sounds like most men!! Yes, I know exactly what you mean and I am not sure there is a cure for this problem. I would be extremely frustrated as well.

Yes, I had that experience. It's even more frustrating when they didn't show that they didn't understand and didn't want to ask questions.

Sounds it may look like she is listening but she isn't. I was married to someone like this for ten years. You should find an article on listening and send it to her.

Oh yes, I know people such as that. And sometimes I feel like I am that person, when I am over-tired and trying to process a lot of information at once.

unintentionally, I am like that at times. especially when I get upset and too stressed with my work.. when it happens, I ask permission to leave my workplace, go home and rest.. the next day, I double my time to catch up with the missed tasks

No not really but see that it could be very frustrating after a while and difficult to correct.
