You can't be too careful!

This is when hanging clothing outside. I don't have a clothesline and I rarely dry things outside, but it was so hot yesterday and the sun was out that I decided to dry my comforter outside..I looked it over carefully before I brought it in to make sure no bugs, ticks or other creepy crawlies were on it. When I went to bed that night..guess what I found on it??? a tick! The moral of the story is check every nick and cranny, because you never know! Did you ever find anything in outside laundry?

Isn't that the pits..there you have the wide open space and air which I would love to have to dry clothes outside and you can't do it because of damn ticks.

I do not like to hang outside, because I fear something like this could happen.

It can, but not likely in your area.

@snowy22315 There are ticks in my area, the deer are in the woods not far from here and the pets easily bring the ticks in the private gardens.

Yeah, it makes the material kind of rough . However, you probably don't have the critter overload where you live. I strongly prefer the dryer however.

This has been a bad season for ticks. I am surprised I haven't run across more of them actually.

we live in a sunny country and still hang laundry out to dry, can't remember any insect problems. what annoyed me, though, was seeing coins in the wash tub because someone dumped their clothes without checking the pockets.

Not any more. It's just not worth it. Can you imagine finding a tick on bedding. Makes me cringe just to think about it. Thanks for sharing. I hope that a lot of people read this... and I was a person who hung things outside all summer long. Sad :( but I'm not going to take the chance any longer!

I never dry laundry outside anymore. Since I've moved, there's no where to do that anymore.

It would be frowned upon here..but no one can see what I do on my back deck, or woods behind the house.

That's disconcerting. I used to hang things at my old place and never had issues.

I have been lucky so far. I only hang my jogging shorts and an occasional hand washable shirt. But in the back of my mind ....I have had that fear

No, I never found anything on outside laundry. But, ticks are terrible around here! We live in a wooded area, where Lymmes Disease is obviously a threat!
