Baby Deer!

This morning, I took my bike out for an early ride. I only rode 11 miles, and the ride was mostly uneventful. Uneventful, except that at one point, I saw a baby deer playing on the side of the bike path. It was the youngest deer I've ever seen. It even still had it's spots and everything. I wasn't able to get a photo. By the time it would have taken me to stop, get my phone out of my backpack, and turn on the camera, it more than likely would have left the area (not to mention, mama was probably close by, keeping an eye on it.) But trust me, it was really cool. I found this video on You Tube. The baby I saw was about the same size as the one in the video. I did take a photo of my bike, however, leaning against a flash flood sign, which has absolutely nothing to do with the baby deer, but I thought I'd share it anyway.
A baby deer that was found in Forest Park (Springfield, MA) welcomed visitors to pet it and let it drink our water!!

Aw Scott..isn't it great here? You never know on the trails what nature or animal you will find. Thanks for sharing this lovely moment.

I've seen so much cool stuff while riding my bike. This was at Waterton Canyon outside of Denver one July 4th.

@TiarasOceanView - Actually, I don't have a lot of wildlife photos. This was while we were taking a break. Right place, right time.

It didn't see me. That's one reason I didn't try to take a picture. I didn't want to scare it.

@infatuatedbby - I saw the grass moving and figured it was a rabbit or something. I was like "Whoa, baby deer"!

That's a fun time to do biking while seeing a young deer. It makes more relaxing.

Oh, deer!! It is cool to see them. I get to see deer, even young ones, on the "accessible" path (it's paved, level, and easy for wheelchairs or baby strollers) at Mammoth Cave quite a bit.

Sometimes they come up right outside our window and graze the bushes. It's really cool.

I probably should have tried to get a pic, but I didn't know where mama was. I got chased by a mama goose one morning on my bike. That was enough.
